Buying a Syclone

Hey guys. I am possibly purchasing a Syclone this weekend. It is #2533 with 53k miles. Guy is asking 12k for it. From the pictures, it looks to be in really good shape. The only thing that I questioned was that on the intake manifold where it says syclone in red. It isn't red anymore. It is all brushed aluminum now. So, I didn't know what that is about. I live in San Deigo, and have to fly up to Sacramento to see it this weekend. Hopefully I am getting a nice truck for a good deal. Let me know what you guys think.

there might be a board member in the Sac. area whom could go with you and verify the mechanical condition, before you pruchase it.

Just a thought.

If ANYTHING seems wrong, or out of place on the truck, lol, walk away.

If you don't know much about them, I would suggest taking a board member with you to check the truck out and possibly run a scan. There are things beyond simple cosmetics that people who know these trucks can help out with. And don't worry, no one will steal it out from under you...we're all broke from owning these trucks! :rotf:

Edit: posted simultaneously with Aero.

Syclone on intake was not painted from factory. They were plain.

:stupid: They are commonly painted, but they are bare from the factory.

Re: Buying a Syclone

So the truck is located 60 miles outside of Sacramento on the 80. Everyone was talking about someone with vast more knowledge going with me to check out the truck. I am flying into the airport Saturday morning at 10. If someone did want to volunteer there time I would throw back for lunch and gas money. Does this seem like a good price if the truck is in good mechanical condition as well?

Not completely stock. It has a boost gauge and also the battery relocated under the bed in the back for an airbox where it used to be. Other than that it is stock. Also as relatively new tires on it.

Re: Buying a Syclone

Well, this is a little delayed, but this last weekend, I managed to fly up to Sacramento and take a look at the truck. It was in beautiful condition. I will get a pic up tomorrow before those of you ask. It was from the second owner, he bought it back in 99 when it had 40k miles on it. He pretty much had it in his garage the entire time he owned it. Only put 1k miles a year on it. I am really looking forward to owning this truck. I have always wanted a Syclone since I first went for a ride in one back when I was like 10 yrs old. Sob story I know. Thanks for posting up your info. I am sure that I will be referencing it quite frequently.
