Hi All I am wondering if there is any interest in a possible group buy for some auto dim rear view mirrors.
Before I find out price I wanted to see if this is anything I should try doing and if people are even interested in doing it.
I am thinking of getting some used auto dim/compass/temp mirrors, I have to look into it some more but I may be able to do a package with the mirror and temp sensor and all you have to do is wire it.
I have not installed mine in my so gt yet but plan to soon so I will let everyone know how it goes from what I can see its 4-5 wire hookup depending on how indepth you would like to go. Basically you need power and ground(steal that from map lights) then you need 2 wires running to the temp sensor normally placed low behind the grille, and then 1 wire to the reverse light switch to make the mirror turn the dim off so you can see when backing up.
I don't know why I haven't thought of doing this sooner since I miss this feature so much from my old sierra I had.
Let me know if there is any interest and if there is I will start looking into getting a great deal on all the parts otherwise I will just do it for myself.
Also I am currently busy with customer cars right now so this won't be something happening right away, I would guess 2-3 weeks.
