Goodmark has a new cowl hood. Whats your opinon?

I thought I was buying the regular Goodmark hood but it turns out they don't sell the old style any more. They are now selling the second generation that doesn't go up in the middle but down with a wider gap than the Reflexxions hood. I'm not sure if I like it but it may just that it was not what what I was expecting. It is growing on me though. Whats your take?

Not bad. Bet it would grow on me too. The recessed center seems like a good place for some type of custom paint. Maybe a pearl or a ghost type effect if you are not into the bold look.

we here in cola bought 5 of the hoods, getting deal on them and thinking we were getting the old ones. We all sent them back.

Goodmark said they didnt want to pay the GM lisence fee anymore and stopped making them. dunno why they would have to pay a fee but thats what we were told.

I and my friends didnt like them near as much esp in person.

It must have been an insane fee to cover the cost of tooling a new hood.

Ill keep my 1st gen.
That looks too blocky for me.

Apparently the tooling cost was less than the licensing.
Nearly every decision today is based on cost.

I'm 95% sure the hood on that white ty is a Harwood fibergalss not a steel goodmark, same top design though just a different angle.

oh god please tell me you didnt "fill in" the body line on the fender, and the cab.......that is the worst decision i think anyone can make on a 1st gen truck.....just my opinion.

on the hood.....the old one was better, new one has too wide of a gap.

I disagree. I think it looks clean. Combine that with a set of 2nd gen door handles and I think it makes the truck look better.

Care to share any details on the body mods?

I have been running this hood now for the last year. I like it over the old style cowl.

I filled in the body line because I was going to do some paint work that wouldn't have looked right had the body line been there. My plans changed with that but I think it looks cleaner without the line. As for other modifications with the body I grafted in a flush 3rd brake light and got rid of the tailgate handle. Nothing too crazy, I wanted to keep it as close to stock but i also wanted to clean up a few things.
