This brings up an excellent point.

We all ask "what can I get away with at X track", "how strict will tech be?"

What we should be asking ourself is "if something was to happen and we find the wall approaching us, what do you want to have in terms of safety before the wall hits?" Hard to add a rollcage milliseconds before impact.

Ed's truck is top notch, safety was not left out.

I could not agree more. I was just telling my friend on the phone about safety. Anything can happen when your giving a high horse power machine everything its got down a strip. The worst part of Ed's story is they should of had the track cleaned up better, it could of been prevented but you can't go back. It seems Ed knows you can't go back and is already planning for his next truck. Awesome

Because of these very reasons, I want to make sure my suspension is mint, that includes getting rid of this steering slop.

I'm not really up to date on this.. What happened? The truck get loose on you, or was it the track? Either way that sucks Ed. Glad your alright though.

I had a buddy hit the wall around the 1/8th in his Camaro SS, destroyed the car. The track had a dip in it and made the ass end kick out and put him head fist into the wall. Took him a while to get over the fact that he too just got done building it. Good luck with the rebuild, wish I had some parts to give to you to help with it.

There was a spill in his lane earlier in the night and apparently it didn't get all cleaned up.

Truck got squirrely, he saved it.
Lost pressure in the rear tire and it spun him into the wall.

Glad you are OK Ed.
The truck can be fixed and I am sure it will be back better than ever!

Anyone Trying to make a 3800 lb box go down the track into the 8's knows how much horsepower you need to lay down and if someone should ruin the track and they don't fix it up right then this crap is going to happen. It wasn't easy to watch it unfold, or here the carnage as we moved it back to the trailer.

I watched a couple mid 9 sec guys make passes before Ed and they were spinning and no one in a quick car made a straight pass down that lane after the spill.

Wow, glad you're OK Ed....sounds like you could have easily ended up on your top. Good luck in getting it back together...

Here's the link to Chris's rolling chassis.... set up for 2-wheel drive pro-street.... some awesome work but maybe not what you're looking for. I was gonna buy it but just couldn't find a place to store it and finish the build.

I need a frame, (need this b4 i buy anyting else)
btw 2wd or 4wd is ok

driver front fender
ft bumper
turn signal housing assy
rad support
arch cladding
rocker cladding

call me if you have a frame. actually call me either way
856-546-8439

between the harness, neck collar and full face coverage, this stuff did what it was supposed to do. I imagine if i had a hans device on i wouldnt have felt anything

that other thread that mentioned the suspension being bent was wrong. the frame crumple zones crumpled and they are before and behind the suspension mounting areas.

we finally had all the issues and changes out of the way and now i gotta build another truck.
I figure a month to swap to new frame and a month to refab anything that was fabbed b4 that got messed up.

this would mean i cant make anyruns while its 90-100 degrees out there with high humididty. big deal. :)

just need some help finding a frame.

Shipping would be a problem but I could get you a rust free frame if you want. Along with the driver front fender, turn signal housing assy, rad support. Let me know if you want me to look into it.

Re: ed hess

Ed,

If it were me I'd get a frame from a 2nd gen truck. They are just about fully boxed.. The only thing that you would need to change is where the front bumper support mounts..

Glad you are OK.
