No love today.:squint:
Had to additionally swap out the ECU prior to test, do to a code 42.
And for some reason the CEL is not working. I think I might have not installed the LED for it when I replaced the gauge faces. :rotf:
I'm going to try a new CAT & retest.

Re: SMOG results...

Turn your fuel pressure down to 34 lbs for the test and make sure the cat is hot. Just make sure you drive it easy until you turn the pressure back up. My Sy with 91232 miles a bad catalytic converter, a 160* thermostat, AFPR set at 34 lb with a 3 year old last Nov, everything else tuneup, Cap, rotor wires, spark plugs with a MSD 6A put out the following # with the intercooler pump running all the time.

Idle: HC 113 (120max) CO 0.03 (1.0max)
2500: HC 39 (180max) CO 0.00 (1.0max)

Re: SMOG results...

I took the AFPR off & installed a stock FPR so it would pass visual.

I've got an IR thermometer, so I checked the temp on the cat @ idle. At the inlet I saw ~180 deg., at the outlet I saw ~400 deg.
I have nothing to compare those numbers too, so if anyone else has some experience with cat temps, please chime in.

And the guy that runs the test, runs the idle test at 900rpm, He said if the test is done right after doing the 2500rpm test that 9 times out of 10 the truck being tested will fail the idle test because the tech drops the rpm too quick.

I did notice that the guy just lifted off of the gas peddle after the 2500 rpm test and didn't ease off.

And I found out why the CEL wasn't working. When I installed the LED lights with George's gauge faces, I forgot to check the operation of the CEL. Turns out I just had to take it out turn it 180 & stick it back in (polarity was wrong).
