Uh Oh!! Trans Fluid Puddles.....

Well, the pan and the cooler lines are dry, it's leaking between the TC and Trans somewhere but I can't tell where..... Checked the trans on the dip-stick its' full up. tried to check the TC but can't get those damn thread in plugs out to check for debris or level..... However it has leaked at least a quart of trans fluid........ Drives what seems fine to me.... no noises I can hear. There is a slight "rumbling" feeling in the wheel. Kinda like a truck with big swamper tires on it. No jumping in turns etc...... Wondering what the hell here!

Was it overfilled? It leaked a quart, yet the dipstick shows full?

Make DirecTV pay for repairs, since it's a "company vehicle"

Seriously though, that sucks man. What are you running for trans fluid? Let's hope it's not Synthetic. :squint:

Speaking of trans fluid, I need to drain and change mine.

Re: Uh Oh!! Trans Fluid Puddles.....

Ha I quit working for them bout a week and a half ago!...... Went back to doing my own thing with Datacom/Telecom..... Nah didn't use synthetic when I did the service last time. I did the rear diff, trans, TC and front diff all at once.

Stab it and steer it
Re: Uh Oh!! Trans Fluid Puddles.....

There is a gasket between the trans and the TC. Check the bolts but prolly tight. You gotta get that TC fill plug out and check that oil level before you toast the TC. Maybe check the seals as well. Front driveline flange and rear sliding yoke. I wouldn't drive much further until you figure this out.

Re: Uh Oh!! Trans Fluid Puddles.....

Possible culprits, if it's really leaking from there and not puking out the vent...

Crack/porosity in converter shell.

Front pump/converter seal.

O rings behind pump bolts weeping.

Re: Uh Oh!! Trans Fluid Puddles.....

Checked it all out..... pulled both drain plugs in the (oh and lemme clarify from the earlier posts that was my bad) TC Transfer Case not the Converter....... It was full of fluid, still had a nice ruby tint to it...... So I went down to the local Checker Auto bought another Qt came home filled it back up.... Drove it around for about 10 mins. came home no puddle yet......
