My dumb brother looks to have overheated my dads car for him, so bad that the coolant and oil are mixing together. Probably a cracked block or something. I am seeing if there are any pontiac guys on here who would be interested in any of the parts. If it is worth it for me to remove parts I will but if not I will junk the who car. No pm's yes, please post what you want here and we will see how it goes. Local pick up also, I am in NJ. I can post pics up this weekend. But its black, 2-door, 5-spoke silver wheels, bald tires, lots of dents on the right side. 3.8 V6 Engine code "K" (thats non supercharged) 4-speed auto trans.

i would look into fixing it , most likly the leak is either a bad lower intake gasket or a cracked upper intake manifold. bothan easy fix. had the same thing happen to mine , coolant in the oil and was lucky enough to catch it early and now put another 20,000 miles on it with no problems since. i love my w-body. if it was closer id buy it.

if you want to drop a motor check with morad auto parts , they specialize in 3.8 w-body parts , excellent people to dealw with , got parts from them for my grand prix.

I've got a 90k engine and trans for ya:D

I would agree its probably a bad upper intake but if the coolant is in the oil I wouldnt fix it I would replace it.

My girlfriend had an 01 gp and it got totaled so I am parting out as much as I can, engine trans still worked great, even drove on trailer:p Oil pan does need replacement though as it is dented. I replaced the upper intake and lower intake gaskets about 8k ago.

I would fix it if its in good enough condition, fix the couple normal problems and those cars will run for a long time.

Good Luck!

Yes the upper plastic manifold cracking is very common but my dad is like the grinch and he does not want to pay to have the guy pull it apart to check. Its got 210K miles on it, and he is thinking about getting a newer car, I saw him looking at 07 Chevy Malibu's last night (GAY) The last W-body I got him to buy was a mint 01 Regal GS. Now has intake exhaust, ECM, pulley and he loves it. I actually caught him racing a mustang by my house last year at a traffic light. I want him to get something cool (like a TBSS) if he buys new or newer and he should make a decesion this week sometime, ill keep you guys posted.
