SyTy 1/18 diecast idea

I found this while looking at 1/18 scale diecast models:
http://www.greenlighttoys.com/?q=products&page=33&catid=3&scaleid=1

The company is Greenlight Collectables, and they offer an '86 Indy Pace Corvette and an '89 Turbo Trans Am. I know even though GMP has made the GNX,GN, T-Type, they refused to make any SyTy after attempted requests. Maybe Greenlight would be cool enough to make them?

Just an idea, is there anyone on here that may be a great speaker of the community and contact Greenlight and ask them about making 1/18 Sy/Ty/SoGT models?

I guess I could send them an email, I just need to see how many owners are in. I could send them number of interested owners from syty. anyone else?

Re: SyTy 1/18 diecast idea

why not just ask them how many they would have to make to actually proceed. Also does one batch all have to be 1 color, or can they make say 1000 units, but then paint them in 15 different color combos?

Getting people to chime in here with "i'll take 3" isn't going to get you anywhere quickly. You'll see at most 50 interested people and i'm sure the company won't want to make 50 diecasts.

Truckless. For now.

Not to mention of those 50 interested, 5 might actually pony up the money when they turn out to be quite a bit more expensive than you were expecting.

But seriously, your best starting point is like Renz said, contact them and see what kind of production run they need to make the project feasible. Then you'll know how many "interested parties" you'll need here. It'll save a lot of time and effort in the long run

so we now have like 8 different people contacting them via different channels....all requesting SyTy's to be made. Nothing like overkill

Yeah though that is assuming they have a Sy/Ty die-cast replica in their catalogue...

Then you have the copyright frm GM potentially....

WOuld be cool - lets hope we get an encouraging reply :D

But since we (US tax payers) have had to loan GM some coin maybe they could be nice and let use the Sy/Ty image and name for nothing

Re: SyTy 1/18 diecast idea

Bringing this back. My buddy told me the other day on one of those speed channel sunday morning type shows that they did a feature on a company that would custom make diecast models but i dont know the name.

Anyone else catch that? I'd really like to get a Syclone 1:18 scale for my collection, I hope someone makes one before I die :)
