    Wheel Bearing?

Mine was the passenger side. The boots are like 20 bucks, but you can get a new half shaft (front axle) from the dealer for 75. That's the route I went, and it wasn't hard at all

    Wheel Bearing?

Ya! I got it fixed, mine was the cv boot/axle. I changed that out and fixed the noise

    Stand Alone

Re: Stand Alone I think I am going to change my initial plans of going stand alone, and see what I can do with the Ostrich. If it doesn't do what I want, then I can always sell the equipment and move on to a stand alone. Either way its a step forward. If things go well, maybe I can pop a...

    Stand Alone

Re: Stand Alone My issues lie in the factors of my poor computer/tuning knowledge as well as I don't know what cam is in my truck. I guess I could go the code 59 route and if the truck doesn't run how I like, I can just sell it, then go stand alone. The reason I say with AEM is because my buddy...

    Stand Alone

Re: Stand Alone I think I am going to go with the stand alone. I know its a lot more than the code 59, but I feel as though I will get the best tune for my truck. I'll let you guys know how it turns out as well as numbers from the dyno. You guys have been very informative. Thanks

    Stand Alone

Re: Stand Alone Is the topic of not knowing my cam size an issue, or am I just worrying too much? The reliability was another concern. I just want my truck running strong, consistent, and to be safe. I also have a friend who has the moates and code 59, and it seems like he can never get it to...

    Stand Alone

Re: Stand Alone Well I have a couple thoughts with the stand alone, first off is that with code 59-I just feel like I am clueless and I'm not exactly tech savy. I could learn, but I am pretty busy with school and three jobs. My buddy who would do the tuning says he will only tune on stand...

    Stand Alone

Re: Stand Alone That would be worth looking into, he quoted me 2,000 for install and dyno tuning with the AEM. But if the BS3 is more plug and play for the sy, that would seem like a better route. I know I need to do a custom tune to get my truck running right, I just did L35 heads and a new...

    Stand Alone

From what I've read, it seems the only stand alone systems syty owners are using on their trucks is the big stuff 3. Has anyone used an adapted AEM stand alone? I have a friend who is a genius at tuning imports and helped develop STS turbo systems. He says he can do my truck with the AEM stand...

    Wheel Bearing?

Re: Wheel Bearing? Two things for thinking that its the left side; first I had a friend ride in the back of the truck and that is where he said he heard it from, and second was when i put it on the lift in gear I could hear it on that tire when I helped spin it. I plan on getting it back in the...

    Wheel Bearing?

Re: Wheel Bearing? Sorry, my bad, it is the front passenger wheel. The noise at times goes away when I turn to the left, but I cant turn left forever..

    Wheel Bearing?

My truck started making a whistling noise while driving, I thought it was possibly the wheel spacers I added to make my new rims fit, but it got louder. Decided to put on the lift and left the truck in drive, low and behold all tires except one was spinning, tried to help spin it, and it moved...
