Re: Built 700R4 and maybe transfer case
Just wondering is that a brace from the transfer case to the transmission bell housing? I've never seen one before and just wondered

Re: Budget Paddle shifter idea
I currently have the forced four because it hard wires the external controls. If this project works good I'm going to get the roadsurge for my 97 jimmy that way I can compare them and see if there's a difference. So far the only difference in them is the way to...
Re: Budget Paddle shifter idea
From everything I've found the 4l60e uses the same design for the solenoids so the box will wire right up.
Personally I'm doing it because I have a new transmission I've never used or seen used so it'll help me diagnose any issues it has since I'm swapping from...
Re: Budget Paddle shifter idea
Btw I know the syty came with the 4L60 and this requires either a 4L60E or 4L80E but I know that quite a few people have swapped over to the newer electronic trans. Plus maybe this would be good for people wanting to swap without having issues controlling the trans.

If it helps any I...
Re: Syty vs blazer 4.3
Good to know!
Guess ill just keep the tune in check and run it up maybe 10 or so. Definitely feel a lot safer with it now that I've gotten some first hand input on the setup!
Re: Syty vs blazer 4.3
Is that motor stock? This sounds about like what I was looking for. How much boost would you feel safe running without the alky kit? Just out of curiosity.
Re: Syty vs blazer 4.3
Thanks guys lot of info!
As for the rebuild it's actually from my 91 jimmy. I rebuilt it then swapped to a built LT1 so it's a fresh 91 rebuild with the exception of .040 bore, edelbrock cam, and a ported vortec conversion. I'm hoping when this one fails it doesn't hurt...
