WTT: Original-Family-Owned '87 Grand National for your Sy/Ty.

Re: WTT: Original-Family-Owned '87 Grand National for your Sy/Ty. Thanks for all of the interest, but I'll be hanging on to my GN for at least a little while. I have a committed deal for a very nice Ty, but I have circumstances preventing me from closing it, mainly, the wife and cash. Thanks...

Re: VERY close to pulling the trigger on buying a Typhoon and have questions.... Just sent you a PM to clarify what is happening. I don't want to get off to a bad start on this board.

Re: VERY close to pulling the trigger on buying a Typhoon and have questions.... I'll be sure to ask about the trans and the chip!

I'm one word away (Yes) from acquiring a VERY clean 1993 Typhoon with 118,000 miles on it. Basically, the main stuff looks good: Upgraded rebuilt trans about 20,000 miles ago. Rebuilt transfer case at the same time, new front suspension, intercooler pump works, EVERYTHING works including the...

WTT: Original-Family-Owned '87 Grand National for your Sy/Ty.

Re: WTT: Original-Family-Owned '87 Grand National for your Sy/Ty. Brand new Precision 6152E turbo and a master cylinder going on it today. With all of this stuff, I've put about $4500 into this car in the last couple of months. Damn, it adds up fast! If this this car is traded, all it...

Re: WTT: My One-Owner '87 Grand National for your Sy/Ty. Re: WTT: My One-Owner '87 Grand National for your Sy/Ty. I know...I constantly second-guess myself on this! Shoot me some pics. Maybe we can work something out. Replied! I should have indicated "family owned", as it was my...

WTT: Original-Family-Owned '87 Grand National for your Sy/Ty.

I have an 87 Grand National that I might be interested in trading for Syclone or Typhoon.. My car has been in the family since it was bought new in June of 1987 (my dad bought it). It's in good shape, never been hit, but still has the crappy GM factory paint. It's also got a few door dings...

    Topic of GN VS Sy/Ty

Re: Topic of GN VS Sy/Ty :rotf: Yes, there is THAT! I had forgotten! I ripped out my stock cluster for a GNX-styled unit about 5-years ago. The LED bar graph was cool to look at, but was about as useful as the idiot lights for oil pressure and water temp!

    Topic of GN VS Sy/Ty

Re: Topic of GN VS Sy/Ty As a GN owner for 24 years, as well as soon-to-be Typhoon owner, I've been trying to educate myself on these trucks. I, too have made the mistake of trying to use my knowledge of the GN as a basis for understanding the Typhoon. And so far, I've learned that the only...

Newbie to the Sy/Ty world, but long-time GN owner!

Re: Newbie to the Sy/Ty world, but long-time GN owner! I hear ya. And I wouldn't even consider another vehicle besides a Typhoon, and here's why: The GN belonged to my Dad until he passed away back in 2006. Then it came to me. Back in the day, he tried to trade it in on a brand new...

Newbie to the Sy/Ty world, but long-time GN owner!

Re: Newbie to the Sy/Ty world, but long-time GN owner! Small world! We spend a lot of time in Bakersfield. It's like a little slice of The South smack in the middle of SoCal! I'm looking for a Ty as primarily a daily driver. Stock or lightly modded would be fine, but it would need to be...

Newbie to the Sy/Ty world, but long-time GN owner!

Re: Newbie to the Sy/Ty world, but long-time GN owner! I would probably do the same if I got one. Silly as it sounds, a bunch of the GN guys have had good luck with the $200 eBay intercooler in a front mount configuration. The only hard part (at least on the GN) is getting the pipes right.

The Typhoon definitely seems more complex with the water-to-air intercooler and what looks like even more emissions stuff. Is there any benefit to converting to an air-to-air setup...Maybe even a front mount? Sent from my HTC EVO.

Took a TBSS on the Highway

Nice kill! I absolutely hammered a TBSS up an on-ramp in the GN a while back. Dude thought he'd beat the faded black car to the merge, but had to realize he made a mistake when he heard the open dump whiz by him. The one new SUV I'd think twice about running is the Grand Cherokee SRT-8. I've...
