    Syclone Won't Crank

One final note. When I first drove my truck after installing the starter I was surprised to notice the usual smoke and smell from header blanket burn-in. That is normal for when a header blanket or exhaust wrap is installed on an exhaust. I was not expecting it for this install because it was...

    Syclone Won't Crank

Yes. With the starter off the truck, I hooked up jumper cables from the battery to the starter, then used a screwdriver to bridge the two big posts. Nothing happened except a spark when the screwdriver touched.

    Syclone Won't Crank

I replace the starter today. My truck started right up with the new starter. Some tips for people in the future replacing the starter: The starter is on the passenger side behind the wheel at the front of the transmission in case you don't know exactly where it is. Tools I used: 14mm and...

    Syclone Won't Crank

Thanks to everyone for your input. If replacing the starter does not work, I will look into the purple wire. I am 90% sure that the problem is the starter. When I turn the key the lights dim and the radio turns off. That tells me there is a large current draw which is exactly what the...

    Syclone Won't Crank

I did some more research. A failed starter has all of the symptoms that I am seeing. I bought a new 6449 starter online and will install it next weekend.

    Syclone Won't Crank

My truck will not crank. When I turn on the ignition the fuel pump comes on. When I turn it further to start the engine, nothing happens. No clicking or anything. Background My truck is mostly stock. I did replace the starter with a high torque starter from a newer S10 about 15 years ago...

Re: Wipers and winshield squirters are dead?? What could this be? I found this thread on a search. My wipers stopped working a few days ago. Thanks to the suggestions in this thread I found the problem: a bad ground. Finding the problem was actually simple once got an idea of what I was...

    Wheel Center Cap & Bolt

Re: Wheel Center Cap & Bolt Thank you. I'll do that. I can say it is the triangle with slight bulges. You will see it clearly when I take a picture and post it tonight.

    Wheel Center Cap & Bolt

Re: Wheel Center Cap & Bolt Thank you Vinnie. I considered using just an Allen head screw. I would rather have a stock one for the extra security. If I can't get a stock one, then I'll get a generic Allen bolt, grind it down smooth then etch the stock pattern into it.

    Wheel Center Cap & Bolt

I need just 1 with the keyed bolt. I would prefer one with the GMC emblem painted red but I'll take any that are available.

    Alarm: Power Door Locks Wiring

Re: Alarm: Power Door Locks Wiring I just finished wiring everything up. It is all working well now. I won't ever have to use my key to get into my truck again unless the battery goes dead on my remote. I did run into a snag. There was no black wire with a white stripe on my truck. The...
