"Paint correction", the way I understand it, is to apply clear coat over the existing finish to provide material thickness to color sand and buff without getting into the original finish which may be fairly thin.

An original 11k mile Ty probably has paint in pretty good original condition. "Original Paint" adds value and ownership experience. Black Typhoons are single stage acrylic enamel. Adding clear coat changes the appearance of the finish. Changing appearance, to me, degrades the originality. A vehicle and its finish is only original once. Including any original orange peel or flaws.

Some people don't care about originality or only want show-quality perfect finish paint. Typhoons are now 30+ years old. Nice originals are becoming scarce, and this scarcity adds to their desirability and value. I personally wouldn't "paint correct" a 11k mile original finish Typhoon if the paint is in good condition.

Regarding "Ceramic", I don't have any experience or guidance regarding these products. I know there is an art to the application, and they are pricey. My concern would be how do they affect the appearance, as outlined above.

My 41 year old OO 1985 Corvette's paint has never been touched by anything other than my hand, has only had conventional paste wax applied to it and is kept out of sunlight as much as possible. Keeping an original car original is one of the toughest endeavors in the car hobby to accomplish.
