Re: Turbo ID

Both of those are good turbos. It depends on what you goals and build is. The 6266 should have the potential to make 100hp more than the 6031. The 6031 is probably better suited for a stock short...

Re: Turbo Size

I would buy a 10 or 12cm2 exhaust housing. Are you using a bigger exhaust turbine wheel? (ie td06h)

Re: Turbo ID

Precision Turbo usually inscribes the turbo size on the compressor outlet. (Ie where a IC piping would connect to).

Re: Turbo Size

I would pick a turbo around the size of PTE6768 for those goals. If you have the stock short block, it probably won't hold up to the hp levels needed. Same goes the stock transmission.

Re: Madison or WI area guys

In SyTy world, Dig is equivalent to a Jedi knight. You don't make a Jedi Knight travel to you, you travel to meet the SyTy Jedi.

Re: Turbo Size

The rpm staged turbos are too small for your combo. What are your goals?

Re: WTB Camshaft

Getting the proper replacement engine was often a struggle even in the early day.

Re: WTB Camshaft

I would check the engine block numbers to see if they are original SyTy motors. Quite a few owners blew the motor up even under warranty.

Re: Wheel cylinders

To get 2 longer shoes usually you need to buy 2 set of shoes. I personally don't think it's necessary. I don't know which wheel cylinders use with Typhoons. The Syclone just uses an early s-10...

Re: grounding through shifter cable

The factory ground is uses the engine as the main ground point. The frame is only grounded by a small wire coming off the battery cable. (The ground point is in on the passenger side approx where...

Re: Myclone Black/White & Smilie Sticker Donation Thread...

Yeah I can't believe its been that long. I still have a myclone sticker on my syclone and like Austin everytime I jack up a vehicle or get under one - I think of him.

Re: grounding through shifter cable

How is the relocated battery grounded? What happened to the original battery - connection to the passenger cylinder head.

Re: Internet find- Syclone 1234 miles

I don't follow them but 26.5k with the reserve not met seems like an awful lot of money for IROC-Z. I don't think the more desirable (IMO) Grand National pulls in that much more in that condition.

Re: Which Data recorder and chip to get

With the mods above, the engine really shouldn't be running that poorly. What is your base fuel pressure? What is the timing set to?

Re: Vortec intake options

I would think a TPI would be difficult to cut down to fit a v6. The intake ports as they cross the manifold are at a diagonal. If I ever decide to go further with engine mods on my Syclone I am...

Re: Corvette Magnesium 18" x 9.5" wheels BRAND NEW.. Set of four..

I read that the C4 Corvette Callaway Magnesium wheel had issues with becoming brittle after ~10 years. Is that an issue with the c5 magnesium wheels?

Re: Setting timing question

If the zero is set properly I would expect the scanner and timing light to read at least in the ball park. It has been when I have checked the timing with the brown wire connected.

Re: alky tank setup where abs used to be

My local track lets the alky in the engine compartment pass. I asked them directly about it while in tech inspection.
