Re: Slowly Losing Fuel Pressure

Don, I responded to your private message, but I think you are mistaken about the relative pressure. What I wrote I believe is correct except that I used bar (14.5psi) instead of Atmosphere (14.7psi)...

Re: Slowly Losing Fuel Pressure

Dropping fuel pressure is because of 4 things. Fuel pump check valve, leaking fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator, and fuel leak I put this in order of how common I think these problems are....

Re: Slowly Losing Fuel Pressure

Of the commercially available chips, they ranged from a base fuel pressure of 40 to 50psi and it does make a huge difference. A 50# ultimate had a base FP of 40psi, with a 50# fp it is eye watering...

Re: Slowly Losing Fuel Pressure

I am confused by why you would adjust your fuel pressure 10psi higher than what you are aiming for. The base fuel pressure is the fuel pressure with the vacuum/boost source disconnected. (Plugging...

Re: Slowly Losing Fuel Pressure

The truck should run with vacuum line removed but if the fuel pressure is way off it may not. (Or you have other issues.) You can adjust the fuel pressure with the vacuum line on, you just have to...

Re: Upper IC leak

I suspected my original upper IC was leaking as well. It seemed to lose coolant and I didn't see any trace of where it was going. I had capped the overflow hose.

Re: F/S PTE 60-1 Billet Turbo wheel GT35R equlivant

If you have a PTE 6152 it doesn't use a PTE 60-1 wheel. A PTE 6152 should have a similar sized compressor wheel as a gt35r.

Re: F/S PTE 60-1 Billet Turbo wheel GT35R equlivant

The GT35R uses a 61mm wheel which the same compressor wheel used in the later pte61. A PTE 60-1 is 59mm wheel and would not work in a gt35r.

Re: TPS Voltage Help?

The idle screw is not suppose to be an adjustment. It is the minimum air and if adjust too far it affects the calibration of the idle. The ECM resets the TPS closed throttle everytime you turn the...

Re: 1991 Syclone Project Suggestions Please

You will probably get the most money out of the truck if you put the original parts back in the truck and sell off the performance parts, assuming the trucks condition is what one would expect of 33k...

Re: Holley dominator and stock trans

Do the 4L80e. A 700r4 is not going to hold upto an awd turbo v8. You don't want to set up the engine mounts, oil pan and exhaust to find to out that you have to redo them because entire engine...

Re: Emi/rfi

If your battery is grounded to the frame, you should have a good ground from the frame to the engine. The factory main grounding for the ECM and battery is the engine block. The frame is only has...

It sounds like you are well grounded.

My MSD 6AL is mounted just above my intercooler on a plate that is basically behind the front bumper cladding, so not that different from where you are...

Re: need help making decisions

If I was going to do a major engine swap down the roads, I wouldn't go doing a heads/cam Vortec swap.

First I wouldn't do those mods with a stock turbo, you are going to find the airflow...

Re: Drag race poll

I have been racing my Syclone at the track on an annual basis. My optimistic planning has me going 2-3 times year, but life gets in the way and it never happens.

Re: HP with stock injectors?

The injector flow rate at 18psi is the base fuel pressure + 18psi. I have never seen hp calculate from AFR. The forumula usually uses bsfc (which is probably derived from afr anyways)

Re: stumped with boost

Maybe it isn't reaching 17psi because the ECM is pulling timing. or the reason why its pulling timing is affecting your boost level. As the engine pulls timing your exhaust pressure might be lower so...
