Re: help with the quest for 11's

Does your knock sensor ever pick up any spark counts? Did some wrap the threads in Teflon tape to desensitize it?

Re: help with the quest for 11's

Are you running pump gas and 20 psi? Most SyTy owners can only run 17/18 psi on pump gas with the stock motor.

Re: Does driving without propshaft destroy t-case/VC

Personally I think your best bet is to replace the viscous coupler. The VC being locked is become more and more of a common problem. Even if you find a good working used one, how long before it...

Re: Turbo won't boost above 10psi

You should always have a boost source hose going to the wastegate actuator (unless you really know what your doing and are planning on have the turbo build maximum boost)

How are you controlling...

Transmission Fluid Change Interval for Type F?

I use Redline Racing ATF and a bottle Lube Guard in my built 4L60. (Redline Racing ATF is synthetic TypeF fluid.)

What is a typical transmission oil change interval for Type F Fluids? I would...

Re: Has anyone changed from AWD to RWD?

Perhaps. I would atleast torque wrench test it while the front prop shaft is off.

Re: Has anyone changed from AWD to RWD?

If your truck doesn't roll in park then the transfer case is probably locked up.

Re: wondering if I have a problem???

If it doesn't feel upto par to you it probably isn't running upto par. (Unless you have a very high expectation for a 280hp truck). SyTy have lot of torque so they often feel impressive at low...

Re: Turbo won't boost above 10psi

If your fooling around with the wastegate I would look their first.

Are you using the factory boost solenoid and ECM to control boost? Did you hook up the wastegate actuator vacuum line to...

$299 is a lot of money for an upper intake that needs to be repainted.

Re: Has anyone changed from AWD to RWD?

If you want the easy way, disconnect the front prop shaft. It will roll in park unless you use the e-brake.

If you don't want it to roll in park, you need a 2wd transmission (or swap cases &...

Re: intermittent loss of power

I personally wouldn't put Teflon tape over a syty knock sensor to desensitize it.

Re: Verifying of 3bar MAP, boost gauge, alky.

Alky control uses a duty cycle to control the pump, so that is why it making funny noises when it first turns on and vibrates when running.

Re: Slightly used trw .30 pistons w/stock rods

The appeal of TRW is the were forged pistons, that were tough (but heavier) and inexpensive. I don't know how much you paid for them but when I was looking to rebuilding my motor in 2006 they were...

Re: What's worth more to you?

I interpret that statement as it runs rich and needs a tune. (Or its untuned for methanol). I obviously have never drive or logged your truck, so I could be completely interpreting your words...

Re: What's worth more to you?

Value depends on he condition and how it runs. A clean truck that runs great with those mods and 59k, $12k doesn't sound crazy to me.

Re: intermittent loss of power

I am pretty sure over tightening it, makes it overly sensitive. I randomly tightened my knock sensor for my 86 Corvette and it pulled timing, I assume that I over tightened it, because the torque...

Re: Bowtie block

The stock production blocks (with upgraded internals) will hold about 700hp, usually owners who build up Bow Tie blocks are planning on making more than 700+ hp.

Re: vortec heads with stock turbo?

The limiting factors will be the stock turbo and injectors. It would be faster at lower boost levels with better flowing heads/cam. It might be easier to keep it simple and keep the stock...
