Re: Poll: Whats the future for SyTy Vehicles, Owners, and Website?

I am not 100% but I think the number views isn't the number of unique member who visited this post. So I have probably read this post 5 time, so I would have added 5 views of 800 views.

Re: Poll: Whats the future for SyTy Vehicles, Owners, and Website?

I think the community will continue to evolve. The community will probably slowly shrink because less trucks will be available.

I have been to 4 National Events - 06 & 07 in KC and 09 & 13 in...

Re: Shift points question

My motor shifts at ~5000 1-2 & ~5200 2-3. I use blue and yellow springs
#2 & #3 weights.

I am plan in playing around with my shift points, once I get my tune a little more dialed (I have...

Re: What's the biggest turbo you could run

The stock air intake distribution limits the amount of boost the engine use and the stock heads are a bottle neck. I think Phillip Long had it right, you just need a moderate sized turbo that can...

Re: Engine "stuttering" under full boost - see dm file

I don't know how accurate DM is but 15.8 is slow for a typhoon. It should run mid 14's if you didn't boost launch it and if you did boost launch it properly it should be in the 13's. Nothing really...

Re: What to spend around $1,200-1,500 for stock syclone

I find it much easier to get to the distributor bolt from the back of the intake angled towards the driver side. I lay on top of the motor and se a 9/16 1/4" drive swivel socket with an extension. ...

Re: What to spend around $1,200-1,500 for stock syclone

With the stock turbo, I would either try one of the forged wastegates or external wastergate for better boost control.

Re: What to spend around $1,200-1,500 for stock syclone

Their is nothing wrong with a MSD ignition box (do not use a MSD coil); I run one on my Syclone for the 2 step rpm limiter as do other SyTy owners.

I would do a fuel pump and the other tune up...

Re: Engine "stuttering" under full boost - see dm file

Are you using 2 O2 sensor (stock and WBo2)? If so the stock o2 130mV is lean like the WBo2. Anyways, I am still not convinced the lean AFR is the root cause, I suspect its the misfire is causing...

Re: Engine "stuttering" under full boost - see dm file

The AFR is lean but it maybe is because of the misfire (the spark retard is 0.0)

I would go over the ignition as mentioned above. What brand and part number of spark plugs are you using?

Re: Think I just blew my first transmission..what now

The torque converter isn't stock. the transmission is out of 93 (should be 2LHM for a 92)

Re: Venders posing as Members.

I have no problem selling my parts to vendors. If I get my price then I am happy, especially if its a no hassle transaction.

Re: I thought the cutoff was 11.50?

NHRA used to be 11.99, so I wonder if that website info is dated. My local NHRA track is strict about the rules; they would have said something to me if the ET were changed back to 11.99 form 11.49.

Re: Think I just blew my first transmission..what now

If your planning to be running 11's, your going to need a beefied up transmission. A $1000 trans rebuild isn't going to cut it. It was just matter of time before it happened.

Re: Hoping for 11s

You should be able to reach your goals assuming you can get it a clean launch. I am sure there is more hp available via boost/timing if you need it. Bring it to the track and see what it does.

Re: Knock at no boost?

Zero lash is approx when the pushrods has the first sign of resistance (when spinning). If you tightened the rocker until you couldn't spin it the its too tight.

Re: Looks looky....fml

The salt air from the ocean does make a difference. The vehicles from beach town noticable dustier than the already rusted vehicles from the sand and salt.

Re: Polishing sanding marks out of cladding???

This. A common sanding mistake is to move too quickly through the sand paper grits.

Re: Help ID Torque Converter

It's like a TCS 9/11 torque converter. I don't if the stall can be determined by looking at it.
