Re: Merry Christmas ! ( to me )

Thanks. The only thing at my current job that I am probably going to miss is my hard working coworkers and friends I have made in the last 6 years.

I am an Electrical Engineer.

Re: Merry Christmas ! ( to me )

My Christmas gift is a job offer I received this week. It has much better benefits, less travel, shorter commute and $15k raise.

Re: diffuser plate upgrade possible?

Diffusers on the turbo inlet are used to get rid of compressor surging. the stock turbo doesn't have that issue. I have heard of turbo buicks using a 'tornado' to resolve this issue.

Re: Transfer Case locking up after sitting

My wheels are stock and tire sizes are stock 245/50-16. The set of tires I use regularly are near new tread depth.

I do have a brand new viscous coupler among my spare parts.

Transfer Case locking up after sitting

I have noticed in years past it seemed like that my transfer case seem to be locked up when I first drive it every year. It seem to loosen right up and work properly with a trip around the block. I...

Re: Forge Wastegate Users/Vendors - How Much Linear Movement Does it Have?

The solenoid isn't causing a restriction. Many turbo vehicle use GM's boost control solenoid to control boost.

The boost control response is entirely the ecm boost control parameters. The stock...

Re: History of the ultimate chip in one picture

Someone local to me bought Jimmy's 50# L35 412 ultimate. I don't know if somewhere it got swapped or confused with another chip but it had the same exact bins as the stock head/cam 50# ultimate.

Re: IAC valve

89-91 corvette or a 89-92 F-Body share a similar throttle body to SyTy's. I would order gaskets for either of those.

Re: IAC valve

If you are going to change out iac valve, you should also clean out the iac passages in the throttle body. You will need new lower throttle body gasket and throttle body to intake gasket (You can...

Re: Think I just blew my first transmission..what now

My Syclone's modified 4l60 transmission shifts into OD at 55mph. (Shifts back to 3rd around 40mph). I want to say my stock syclone transmission shifted into 4th at 45mph. I put a trans go shift...

Not to make excuses for them, but they live in the area (or near) that was paralyzed with 6' of snow that started just before the 18th.

Who said Lightnings are faster than Syclone's? Syclone are faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile. Lightning can have the top speed.

Re: Shocks for the Aspen??

Typhoon didn't originally have Bilsteins. They did make 2 different Bilsteins models for SyTy, one was the HD. I would guess that you had the bilstein HD's. When I owned my typhoon KYB monomax...

Re: 2015 Nats location???

Their would be a ton of down time between runs if all 4 lanes are open. You would be lucky to get 30 SyTy's to race at a Nats.

Re: 772 vortec heads cracked.....

What size valves does the 772 Vortec have in them. I have heard and read that 2.02/1.60 tend to crack. I went with 2.00 & 1.56 valves for that reason.

Re: Corvette C5 wheels with snow tires - pick up only

I had a Typhoon that I drove in the winter (all seasons tires), I am sure with snow tires it would be a beast. I would not drive a virgin winter truck in the snow though, IMO once a truck is...

Re: What mods / upgrades / maintenace to do, when egine is anyway off?

If this is going to be a daily driver, I would probably just rebuild the turbo or put in a 20G turbo (skip the 14cm2 exhaust housing) and raise the boost as in your first post.

If your looking to...

Re: What mods / upgrades / maintenace to do, when egine is anyway off?

Solid motor mounts are barely noticeable on these trucks. I have read not to do a solid transmission mounts in conjunction with solid motor mounts. I had tried to hold off on getting solid mounts...
