    I hate when that happens! I hate when that happens! I see a rocker arm stud backed out of the threads and not holding the guide plate down on the bottom pic....... When they back out that way the valves don't open very much...... Is that a figment of my demagination? or is that the problem...

    The hoses leading to and from the heater core come thru the firewall on my Dakota.... not exactly sure where they are on your rigs. You would need to disconnect and either plug or loop around your heater lines from the engine. That would leave the heater core disconnected from the engine...
