Has anyone had any luck using 2 meg or 4 meg EEPROMs? I've tried both Atmel 29c020 and AMD 29f040 EEPROMs, programmed with Pocket Programmer with no success. The chips seem to program ok with no errors but when installed the ECM doesn't even recogonize that there is a chip installed and goes...

Obviously the best thing is to figure out what's causing this, but if you can't figure it out as a band-aid I think I can custom program the PIC to default to a different setting if it is reset. At least it won't go into full blown race mode when you're not looking. Todd

Paul, You should have the newer style carrier (the part that goes into the ECM), yellow circuit board with STG Racing V1.1 5/03 writted on the underside. The old narrower green circuit boards were the ones that ocassionally required trimming. Todd

You have version 10 (C3B16v10). This is correct for your combo. Let me how the truck runs with the stock chip/MAP. I'm the one who makes the chips if you're wondering. Todd

You need a MEMCAL, whether it be stock or aftermarket. Most people refer to the MEMCAL as the "stock chip", although it can be reprogrammed and resold as an aftermarket chip. The MEMCAL is a 66 pin device holding the EPROM and additional circuitry needed to operate the vehicle. You're truck...

The 10-1 chip will control boost up to 17.5 psi. This chip will not run well with a 3 bar MAP. The test described above will tell you what you really have.

First of all you have a 10-1 chip, not an Ultimate. This chip uses the stock MAP sensor, not a 3 bar like the Ultimate. The EMS setting is for emissions, and the 800 setting is the same as the T1-16 but with an 800 rpm idle speed. Todd
