It doesn't matter what direction that you mount it. Towards the cab will be loud to you vs. everyone else ... wantingasy has his going the other way but the HKS is held in the flange with a big snap ring so you can rotate it to whatever position that you want...

With regards to how to be a "bling king" you folks can see my "how to" write up that I did here.

Re: Where to tap into vacuum for BOV?

Yeah, you can point the BOV either way. Mine is facing the back because it was a PITA to get the snap ring on with my POS tool and after I got it on i realized it was backwards and didn't want to risk puncturing the o-ring by turning it around. Next time my pipe is off, I'm going to turn it around. Trust me though, it's still plenty loud for people on bikes or on the sidewalks to know!!! So funny when you see them jump out of there shoes after you let off of like 10+ psi!!!

Oh yes, it scares people. On my way to school theres a strip of buildings really close to each other and I let off after a short 14 psi run and people on the sidewalk about shat in their pants and gave me the dirtiest looks I've ever seen. It echoes soooooo loud in between the buildings!!!

Re: Where to tap into vacuum for BOV?

There is a guy few streets down from me. He has a STI with a bov. He pops it when he see me. he pulled over when I was putting in my turbo. He thought it was strange seeing me with a turbo and a s10 truck. he asked if it was a 4 banger. I just smilled. Now he shows off when he passes my house. I want to return the favor.LOL

Re: Where to tap into vacuum for BOV?

I put a T on the front vac lines near the TB linkage. I used to have it tapped to the back of the intake. Both ways worked. And yes its funny as hell firing it off near a crowd.

Check out this BOV.....was thinking of getting one....

They do a side by side comparison with the HKS valves you guys are using, and no leaks under Hi pressure............

Re: Where to tap into vacuum for BOV?

It didn't convince me that its any better than the HKS. It looks like a PBS commercial for some guys BOV. If anyone with an HKS is worried about leaks then they could get the same recirculation adapter.

Re: Where to tap into vacuum for BOV?

Well I'm no rocket syientist but I would guess that without actual testing, a faster acting valve couldn't hurt but does it really make a big enough difference to pay extra / ditch an exisiting one for there "better idea" at street boost levels (10-22 psi.) . On a really high psi (30 +) full race engine I'd say sure just because you don't want to take a chance on a multi thousand dollar engine over a several hundered dollar BOV? Just my .
