Common Tranny Failures

I was just curious as to what is failing in most of the stock trannys. I know I twisted the output shaft several years ago, but thought i'd ask what others have done.

I've seen every load bearing component broken in the 700 except the input planetary, stator on the pump, and the rear ring gear. Only time I've ever seen a broken piston is when there was another catastrophic failure(like a sprag flipping and spinning the piston).

George used a billet output shaft in my tranny ....you know ...just in case :tup:

The sprag was stripped on mine.

One thing I have noticed is its seems like often most SyTy when the tranny goes, it breaks something. On other 700R4's it usually the 3-4 clutch burns up.
