I say give it time with the value. I have both and driving the Ty is alot more fun than driving the GN. If I take the Ty to a car show only a few people know what it is but it still gets right much attention. The GN if I take it pretty much anywhere everyone knows what it is.

Question for you GN owners. How high is the seating position on the driver side?
I just got done redoing the interior of a friend's '85 GN. New seat cushions, and covers, carpet, door panels, etc... With the seat as far down as it will go it is still a bit high up even for my 5'1" body. Is this normal, or could it be the cushions being new/not broken in?

Numbers it's all about the numbers.
They never got widespread notoriety.
Most people don't know they exist
Mostly due to rediculously low production numbers
A few more Typhoons and Syclones need to cross the block at Barrett Jackson and I predict you will gradually see the prices creep up for clean low mile stock trucks.
If someone like Reggie Jackson or Jay Leno (WHICH JAY HAS DONE) were to buy and feature this truck in their collection people would start paying attention.
Time will tell :2cents:

I bought my truck around 1998. I feel it is probably worth about the same as I paid back then. So very little depreciation in the past a 15 years, isn't too bad to me. I never bought it to make money on, but I do keep it around in case the value starts to go back up. Plus, there really isn't much else I could buy for less than $10k that would really be any more fun.

I always knew what the SyTys were because my dad was a gearhead and he always tells me the story of almost buying a Syclone in 91 but not being able to swing it because of the divorce with my mom and yada yada.
Back to the point though, muscle cars have more of a following than sport trucks if you ask me. I think on average people associate trucks with work and SUVs with family type stuff and the sleek two door whatever gets the credit as being fast and cool. So the concept of a factory sport truck is lost on a lot of people because cars naturally make better platforms for racing. I don't know, I may be way off but hey I took a stab at it.

Give it time guys. Look at what C3 Corvettes are going for now. You couldn't give most of them away ten years ago. Look at how cheap you can buy a C4 for now. The values will go up in a few years.
In the meantime, I'm just waiting for them to get old enough to qualify for antique tags so I don't have to smog them & renew the plates every year. Insurance will go down too. All of that will save me a lot of time and money! :tup:

Just look at the new hot rod magazine. They have a timeline of turbo cars and talk really nice about the gn but the article only covers cars. No syty
