KB headers and no room?

first off my truck came with kenne bell headers, and in the begining it looked as though i had tons of room to play, however space is getting used up real quick.

i am not a fan of removing alot of things, such as the A/C heater box and pump , inner fenders, battery relocate and so on.

however i got the A/C/evap box back on the firewall, set the turbo on the header and put the inner fender on the pass side.

the turbo/header flange is touching the inner fender, there is VERY little room between the a/c box and the header for a down pipe and it almost looks as if the front of the turbo is about 3 inches away (or less) from the radiator/tranny cooler lines.

i was fed up with working on it today and left shortly after seeing this and taking a couple snaps, but WTF do i do now?

i am sure i won't be able to run anything bigger than a 2 in DP amongst all the other clearance issues....did KB not intend people to run a/c and inner fenders when they designed these headers?

any suggestions on what to do to retain these things would be appreciated.

personally i think the kb headers are a real pain in the ass, i have a set and they have caused nothing but trouble and fitment issues for me.

I had kb headers with RPM 3" down pipe, it fits fine. Maybe its that adapter you have between the headers and turbo, changing the turbo location..

nope, no adapter, turbo is sitting on the flange. i have a set of stockers, but no turbo. but i'd rather not go back to stock.

so you had more room than what i do shown in the 6th pic down?

ok I see it, the room seem the same. The downpipe don't come stright up, it bend down ontop of the frame and then back up. RPM downpipe fit with not problem, I never put back on the fenderwell, you might have to trim it.

Re: KB headers and no room?

where did it go through? not between the header and AC box close to the firewall like i thought it did? must go between the header, evap tube, and the inner fender?

Re: KB headers and no room?

i had to clearence my inner fender slightly with a 2lb hammer to clear.

Re: KB headers and no room?

i dont have kb headers but rpm ones, but i could take a pic of the rpm downpipe and where it routes if you want to see.

It goes tru the same space the stock and PTE downpipe. The downpipe dfor the kb header is bent out torward the fenderwell to clear from touching the headers. I remember a little now, you have to pound the fender well.

Here are some pics I have on photobucket, hope it help.
