Re: LS1 TT typhoon build(more pics)

i took a flap wheel to my head and valve cover. took out about 3/8". My head is now about 1/8" away from the box. I did make my own mounts though and there solid mounts.

thanks for the info on the dp. what size primary are you running? collector size? just interested. last question, where is the a/c compressor going?

compressor is in the stock LS location...kind of,i removed the original a/c mounting bracket from a trail blazer ss unit, smallest one on th eLS platform, and the made my own brakets and tensioner braket:

primarys are 1 3/4 just to take full advantage of the cylinder head port size, and the colllectors are 3" also to take advantage of the exhaust housings i am using seen here

Did you have any problem with warpage when you were welding the oil pan? I had my first pan marked out like yours but i changed it and went straight accross the back. What oil capacity? about 5 qts?

yes it warped slightly,i have to surface grind it back to flat when done, but i am building a small kick-out in the front between the diff and the cross member, much like a fox body mustang pan,and then connecting the 2 sumps with a -12 an line,my current capacity is 6 quarts w/o the filter mathematically the added sump will add another 1.5 quarts.so im looking at 8 quarts total when it is complete

Re: LS1 TT typhoon build(more pics)

i was able to get the intercooler built, and 95% of the hot side and cold side done,i need to do the pass side wastegate and about 1/2 of the dischage pipe to the TB,i need 1 more bend to complete.

the down pipes are 3" merged together to a single 4",the intercooler core is a garret/honeywell 1000 hp core that i made the end tanks for.

there are entirely too many pics to link them all so here is the address for the photobucket acct.

Looks awesome.. Whats that rear out of? It looks like it already had the tabs for the upper bars of the triangulated 4link..?? Did you have to shorten the width of the rear at all?

Nice work, The way you are mounting the rear end is the way I have been thinking about when I go to a 12 bolt. The only thing different is I would be using the stock box arms with up graded bushings and the added brace that is used on the 442 W-30 that tied the upper and lower arms together.

69 chevelle,i took 3/4 of an inch out of the rear width and used ford 9" housing ends for 4th gen f-body rear brakes, yes the rear end already had the triangulated mounting tabs cast into the center housing, and thanks:lol:

No it would be still triangulated just like yours . It would just have the factory did it look with the added brace.
