So what happens to the bolts when you remove them that warrants replacing them instead of re-using?

I know that I've re-used them in the past and if I recall that are so freaking huge that I can't see anything less than a 500lb person ever coming close to shearing one...???? Even a heavy person at a high speed impact I still can't see one breaking...

Ok, so here we are still stuck on the lower side passenger seat belt bolt. I am talking about the one closest to the center console.

I have broken 3 different T-50's. I tried a T-47 and it didn't fit right.

I have heated it and soaked it.

Anyone else have any thoughts? This damn thing isn't budging.

Re: Removing lower front seatbelt

they get replaced anyway. Drill it. Use a good hardened bit (left handed if you have it). Thats how I had to do mine, no amount of PB Blaster / heating or anything else I could think of would budge them

I never post here, just read. In my experiences, if you use some higher end T-47 bits (like Snap On) versus your average parts store bought torx bits, they will fit fine. When using cheaper alternatives, the T-50 fits better.

When doing this, I usually am using an extension, which I give a few good whacks downwards on to make sure the bit is fully seated. I have had to use a breaker bar (3' pipe) on my ratchet to break em loose.
