Re: Saudi Syclone - 2612
Checked a few things over...
200psi on all 6 - I hope it will be a fun motor. I had to redo the valves again. 1/4 turn dropped 30 psi per cylinder so I did 0 lash with Loctite. I will check compression again next time as I have an annoying miss at idle now.
Almost fully assembled...
Tightened up the wheel nuts:
I couldn't believe how cheap and fast this arrived. £8.20 inc postage. 24 hrs. Amazing!
My Dad helped me bleed the brakes. The two accumulators on the ABS wouldn't move though so I couldn't bleed it properly. It looks like an ABS delete is in the future.
I am also concerned I put the torsion bars in wrong. It sits very low now - perhaps an adjustment on the pork chops will help. It does look very good though!
So, it was all assembled less AC and some turbo - IC clamps.
My parents came to help me out. We have a unit about 30 min from their house which is where I have been every day the last few weeks.
We grilled out.
I got the truck off stands and took it for a drive. It has a miss and the wheels need the camber adjusting but the trans seems strong and it didn't die when I changed gears!
Time to celebrate!
I won't get to work on it again for a while now
Hopefully these guys can enjoy it while I am away...
My Dad will put it up on stands again but for now, it rests.
As usual, lots of little snags but in the end, I did it. This is the first engine I ever built so I hope I did a good enough job!
Hope you enjoyed reading!
