trailer brake harness? I'm lost

Does anyone know what this harness goes to in my truck? I was thinking/hoping (reverse order) that it's for the trailer brake controller that I'm trying to install.

I have the electrical service manual and I have no idea where in this 500 page tome it could be. It has never been in use to my knowledge.

Here is a crappy image of the face of the connector.

I can't tell you what it is but does your manual have the wiring diagrams in the back? Look through that for a picture of that connector (6-pin?) and that will lead you the right direction.

This is an S15 right, not a Ty?

Re: trailer brake harness? I'm lost

That connector is a dead ringer for the rear wiper switch and 4x4 switch (both of which I have installed and working) which is what confused me so much.

I do have the red/blue wire running from a fuse on the firewall to the rear bumper area taped off which is what excited me that it would be prewired. I was just hoping this connector contained what the brake controller needs to function but looking at the wire ga alone it can't handle the 20A required by the brake controller. I'll figure it out though and post up either way.

Today's project is swapping out a front differential, power steering gearbox, and torsion bar mounts. I hate my life.
