I notice a huge difference with the Zr-1's they tend to ride in the groves and there is a lot more steering involved. I don't know if thats what you are feeling or if something needs to be replaced.

Any uneven tire wear?

That's mainly just the wider tires and the construction of them. My tires wear pretty evenly. The fronts get slightly more wear toward the outer edges, but that'd surely be from hard cornering all the time. A more aggressive camber setup should help fix that problem.

Check into this really. i ended up spending an hour of my time, and $35 dollars to get the exact same thing as you would by putting in a $200 shaft. I couldnt be happier with mine!

I saw this post and thought it was good info but did not really specify what vechicle to use as the donor. Do you have more info / pics on this mod? I would like to know exactly what type of Jeep (model /trim level) to be looking for.
