As some of you may know, I own an auto dealership and my newly aquired TY sits in the lot on nice days when I drive it there. Some people have actually asked how much "The white BLAZER" is for sale for? My employees often direct them to me and I tell them that its not for sale... Some customers have actually liked it so much that they persist... Then I tell them... "if you have 12G cash u can have it" then they respond with the usual.... "WHAT? for a 1992 BLAZER" thats when I have to explain to them that this is a limited production vehicle and it has a turbo ,,, bla,,, bla,.,, bla,, and they are named TYPHOONs... Most customers will just tell me how nice it is but that they would not pay that much for a 1992 BLAZER..... LOL

What do you expect,,, I live in NEBRASKA " and NO, Im not a Redneck" LOL

Oh,,, and I have a friend that owns a 99 Dakota R/T and he swears he can spank my bee-hind.... Its a nice stock R/T, I installed a killer sound system in it and sold him a nice wheel/tire combo... I even drove it. Pretty impressive for a Dodge but he has never seen a Typhoon... Hes not aware that its Turbo charged. He thinks its a Jimmy with a body kit.... LOL

Most people have no respect for a Jimmy with a body kit..
That is until they hear the turbo spool up and you spank them by bus lengths.

Just nod and smile next when someone starts telling you its corvette v8 blah blah blah...

Its kinda fun bein GMs bastard child sometimes.

You get used to it after awhile. I typically try to just go along with the person or start going into left field on what the truck really is.

The only time that offended me was sitting in traffic when I had the Royal.... ricer kid pulls up next to me in his Integra and his GF in the pass seat. He leans over and tells me I have a beautiful Typhoon.....then asks, is it real? Now com'n.... dont tell me how nice my truck is, then slap me down and ask if the damn thing is real. I asked why he would think its fake and his GF sneered at me that he was only trying to give me a compliment. WTF? Asking me if my truck is real is not a compliment in my book. He went on to school me that they didnt make any Typhoons in blue :roll: I looked forward and rolled up the window.....


GF was ugly too.

:lol: Actually, a stock '99 S10 SS is faster in the quarter mile than one of those, heck, My old slightly modded '92 Vortec Blazer used to beat those. A fun thing to do is wait untill he redlines next to you, and then just take off! :lol: I used to love to do that to ricers years ago.

When I moved to Washington, we passed through Chicago. Coming up from the south, can't remember what freeway, a Fox-body Mustang pulled up beside me. The guy asked if it was a real Typhoon, and I said yes. We spent the next mile or so with him begging me to sell. There's a lot of S-series trucks around where I live, so some of them recognize the Typhoon when I park it in front of the Schuck's my wife works at. Otherwise, like Warmpancakes said, it's just a farm truck with a body kit.

I ride by just so I can see the Aspen blue Ty that sits in someone's garage all the time.

Yes, I'm a syty stalker. I even got pics of it out in the driveway one day.

In my town (alot of rednecks) im know as the guy with the typhoon alot of the kids drive talons and the wife makes a point to beat up on them kinda sucks they wont play anymore and the tys 95% stock

You should race the R/T and smoke him! :rotf: I did have a few guys flip out over my Syclone when I was filling the tank at a gas station, and from time to time people know what it is. :tup:

I usually just walk away from the truck and watch and listen to what people have to say lol, there is some funny stuff.

I've gotten so I usually downplay the Ty. A guy asks if it has a V8. "Naw, just the stock 6". Another guy asks if it needs all that rubber. "Naw, it isn't capable of spinning the tires."

That makes me feel good, haha. My buddy had a '95 ? S10 SS... and he raced me in my old Grand Am GT.. it was a '93 with the 3-speed auto. 160hp "Quad 4" engine. (MUCH nicer in the 5-speed & "HIGH OUTPUT" version)..but he SPANKED my GA with his S10.

Poorboy you really have TWO Ty's !? That's great...

Friggin wackjobs... "Is it REAL?" It's like, "NO- it's sitting here all clean, with it's bad a$$ stance, with the turbocharged 4.3 engine runnin... " It's FAKE though. ttsssh.

You can pretty much TELL that my 'clone' isn't an AUTHENTIC Ty... but if somebody were to ask me- I'd have to rev it, and ask em if they heard a TURBO at all... NOT real...still a nice "Tyclone" though. I'm sure the dude, didn't mean to offend ya- but he should've thought before he spoke. (also should've thought before picking her for a girlfriend! LOL)

i was just explaining yesterday to a guy at Advanced, about how i converted my truck from a LT1 to a turbo 6. he thought it was a neat idea.

Airride fanatic, yeah I really have two Typhoons. :) My friends would think I'm crazy if they didn't understand how much I'm a fanatic and that I've owned an additional 18 S-series trucks.

Out of respect, I won't name drop but there are quite a few members on here that have a much bigger Sy/Ty count in their collection than I do. Which I think is really cool.
