Fan rubbing shroud

Hey guys. I replaced the water pump with an autozone part and the fan is now hitting the shroud when i turn the wheel. If you are in front of the ty with the hood open its rubbing the lower left hand side down on the bottom. I didnt take notice before but looking at the spacing there is maybe an 1/8" of space at best on the left side and like 1-2 inches roughly on the right. Just wondering if anyone else had this issue? I am thinking they gave me the wrong pump. I dont have the stock fans on the blue ty to check to see if the the factory fan is centered but on the raspberry the fan is definity not centered in the shroud. Is it supposed to be?

Re: Fan rubbing shroud

could be busted/sagging motor mount, I/m pretty sure the shroud can't be adjusted

Re: Fan rubbing shroud

I replaced my fan with the 11-blade astrovan blade. It rubbed when I started it, nothing the cut off wheel couldn't handle. I think if anything the lower fan shroud was slightly warped. What I did was put chalk on the end of the blades, started it to see where it was hitting and cut a small portion of the shroud out. Haven't had a problem since.

Slightly off topic....does anyone have the part number for that astro 11-blade fan?

Re: Fan rubbing shroud

i also did the 11 astrovan blade. When i started my truck it was hitting i just got sand paper and sanded the top of each blade a little bit till no rubbing. THe blades are plastic so with a rough sand paper it took minutes to get it completed. I actually was happy becasue i didnt need to take everything back off.

I also did the fan blade clutch at the same time. Wasnt to happy the way the old one looked...

Re: Fan rubbing shroud

It's odd that the shroud is rubbing. I didnt touch the lower shroud and thats where its hitting. I just assumed i might have been given the wrong water pump but i will look into the motor mounts and see what i find. I will also take a closer look at the shroud again but not too much to mess up there.
