Grounding the RCA's makes the noise worse, a lot worse. I also eliminated the head unit as the culprit when I put in a brand new, different brand head unit and still had noise.
The gains on my amps are set just as WyoSyclone suggested. It's how I set all the amps I do.
As I said before, I've been in this profession for over 7 years now and have easily done several hundreds of amp installs. I can count on one hand how many have had a noise issue and those were solved by changing the radio's ground connection.
I have a feeling it has something to do with how I wired my battery in the bed.
