Re: fuel pump relay

Read this. Low fuel pressure will have no effect on the relay. It's only purpose in life is to open and close when voltage is applied to it. The fact that you even have fuel pressure means that it's doing what it's supposed to... Low fuel pressure is a sign of a clogged fuel filter and/or a fuel pump going south.

Re: fuel pump relay

i know how all this works, i wasnt sure if with low fuel pressure would make the pump get hot and make to much resistance making the relay go out. i have the racetronix kit on there and thats all newer, it runs really rich with the ultimate chip so turned down the fuel pressure and the relay went bad, while i changed the relay i turned the fuel pressure up alittle and it ran like crap wouldnt pull at all. in turn i turned it back down alittle and the next day the the truck wouldnt start. cant hear the relay click no pump turn on.....nothing so thats why i asked what relay it was just to be sure

still stumped
If the fuel pump was drawing too much curent then your fuse will pop,if your questioning the relay, try swapping it with the a/c relay next to it,I think they are the same. The gray wire off the relay should go back to the pump, jump that to power and you should hear the pump run.Does this get you anywhere?
