What do you thin for a TY

Re: What do you thin for a TY

I think your going to need a lot higher offset in the front or one big azz adapter. Remember the 17x9.5 ZR1 wheel for the front is a +56mm offset, that's 41mm off or about 1 3/4" the wrong way.

18x9.5 offset 15mm ---- front

18x9.5 offset 45mm ---- rear

Would i need spacers? if so what size?

275-35-18 all the way around?

Yeah the other way around.

The factory 16 x 8 Rims are

Front 41mm
Rear 11mm

To match the factory back spacing on a 9.5" rim

It would be approx.

Front 60mm
Rear 30mm

If you reallu wanted the above
45mm/15mm Offset You would need a 3/4" spacer on all 4 sides.

am i right on saying that would be a 19mm spacer if so where do i get them and will they work with no mods. ie.. longer wheel studs, etc..?

You might try Steven, he's gotten them before.

19mm is alot for a spacer, I personally wouldn't feel comfortable with that much. I can't remember the formula, but for the size of your stud you have to have a certain min. amount of turns of the lug nut for it achieve the correct amount of clamping force. A 12X1.5 mm stud if I had to guess on those needed 12mm of stud to be correct, or about a 1/2 inch. I can't remember the exact formula

Re: What do you thin for a TY

the rim comes in 4 offsets what ones should i get and size of spacers?
18x9.5 15mm offset

18x9.5 25mm offset

18x9.5 30 mm offset

18x9.5 45 mm offset

Thanks for all the help so far

Dave's number's are pretty close to what you will need. Like I said the 17X9.5 front needs a +56mm, so the highest you have is a +45mm, your still 11mm or 1/2 inch off ( needs a spacer ).

The rear, I couldn't find the corresponding ZR1 offset so I will use Dave's number of +30mm, you have that available.

So +45 in the front with about 1/2 inch spacer and +30 in the back no spacer.

I'll check this agian in the morning, it is 1:25 am and my brain hurts.

Re: What do you thin for a TY

Just incase anyone is trying to figure out how I am coming up with my numbers.

The offset is based on the center of the rim, you usually want the front face of the rim to be similiar.
Since it the center of the rim, a wider rim such as 9.5" vs stock 8" will add 0.75" to each of the rim (1.5" difference divided by 2) from the center line. To adjust the offset to match the factory distance to the front face of the rim. You would want to add .75 + the factory offset of 41mm and 11mm. .75 is ~19mm. So the ideal offsets for 9.5" rim is 60mm & 30mm, assuming the rims are 9.5". A 17x11 is 3" wider than stock, so you want to add 1.5" to the factory 11mm ofset. 1.5" is ~38mm, so that add up to 49mm for 11" rim.

I would presonally do 4 18x9.5" with 30mm offset, buy a 1" spacer for the front. Your rear would be ideal the front sunken in less than 5mm ( which less than 1/4") and the ability to rotate your rims.

The larger offset spacers like the one I recommend have a hub that bolt to the factory hub and then use a different set of lugs to attach the rims. I know people who autocross Corvette with those spacers. I am sure it isn't ideal, but our truck aren't even going to come close to the stress of autocrossing Corvette. I would use a straight spacer with longer studs for 3/4" or higher.

Re: What do you thin for a TY

I like the the idea of rotating tires so go with a 1" spacer for th front and 30mm offset on all 4, and 275x35x18 tires would that work well? What do you guys think of going with 19x9.5's ? I know not much side wall so the ride will suck but man it would look good, any other drawbacks?
