Project De-MexiTy...

We'll... after Leroy and I drop'd the tank and put in a hf 255 pump, then replaced the fuel pump relay, Ty1181 runs... or idles well. Leroy also had a spare distributor that we dropped in since there was no spark.

We took it around the block running only on power from the new battery.... at the time we didn't know the altenator was toast as well... time for a new altenator.

Interesting Paint Job on the Intake and valve covers.... :)

Yeah leave the stripes - dare to be different. That truck's got personality and history.

I just gotta say wow... It just makes my head spin to think that some good intentioned person sat back and designed those stripes. And once painted they must have been like "damn that looks hot." Thats what gets me.

They look like gold tweezers, or maybe a nice roach clip.

Stripes might have been cool in the 80's... but being that it's a 92.... hmmm...

As for the Exhaust... don't be hate'n...

Maybe he didn't know how to mount the cowl seal so he screwed on there rather then slip it onto the cowl lip.

One of those lund cowl covers.

they opted to screw them in rather than use the trusty 2 faced tape.

At first I thought you were talking about the Ty in general, then I saw the quote above it... :)

Trust me, this Ty is gonna look nice when it's done with the repairs/demexitization.

Re: Project De-MexiTy...

Here's an update on the Red/Red Ty 1181. Yes it's still got the stripes so the mexity comments are ok....

Can somebody tell me whether or not the Cladding can be fixed? Im pretty happy with the condition of the interior...minus the crack in the dash.

Zach, I can fix both of those pieces. It looks like everything is there, that makes it even easier.

yup same here, it'll take a few hours, but both pieces are fixable.

as long as you don't care about the paint, that is.
