Anybody Deal with Mike at Race Proven motors?

I ordered and paid for a turbo/downpipe off of him over two weeks, he was supposed to email or call and give me and give me an exact eta and tell me what was going on,it was suuposed to be here in about 2 weeks. I started calling him last week after not hearing from him and needing my parts on schedule. And now they are not answering there phone anymore, i have made over 20 phone calls in less than a week and left about 5 or 6 msgs. I have to get all my parts together by the end of the month and it looks like its not going to happen dealing with him. Where else is a good place to get a turbo? im looking for a GT67, i thought precision had them but apparently not. I just need to get it by the end of the month, i can worry about getting my money back from them later.

Dont worry about Mike hes a very honest and straight forward guy to deal with, Ive dealt with literally hundreds of speed shops and Mike is definately one of the good guys you do know mike changed his phone number recently correct? Try emailing him.

i have spent tons of money with him and a few things that i bought did take a little longer than expected to arrive, but thats just the nature of the business. im just glad that we have such great vendors such as mike in our little community.

well good guy or not my parts are still not here and they are supposed to atleast be well on there way, but im assuming they probably arent as he was supposed to call cause i was interested in other stuff too. The phone number i have worked a couple weeks ago and goes to the voicemail.

I wouldn't worry about your money being gone.

Turbo's can be long lead time items also. Especially custom ones, or a odd ball size.

If he said it was in stock that is one thing, if he had to have it made is another.

Don't know exact situation, but don't get all upset yet.

Your money is safe, Mike's been around for a long time, back when Sean Morris, Guy Lavy, Andrew Schwartz, Ivan the Terrible, frequented the boards.

Mike's a good guy. If he's not returning your calls, I'm sure there's a reason, but you're right, that doesn't help you in the short term.


Do realize, that in those two weeks, there was a holiday down here too.

Same here, I had a similar problem with Mike, but I guess you could say I didnt make things any "better" for him. Dont worry about your money, your parts will show up as soon as they can.

Im at 6 weeks now for my custom PTE Turbo.

I got some stuff off Mike a while back... wasnt anything unusual. I got exacly what I wanted and he'd ship it right away if it was in stock.

Mike is a top notch guy and I am an RPM customer for life. You get what you pay for, and good things come to those who wait.

I've dealt with Mike a few times and never had a problem. I've talked to many others who also have had good luck.

I deal with Mike on almost a daily to weekly basis. And just like everyone else has mentioned, hes not going to screw you....however, he may be lagging behind in stock and I know he has been in the middle of doing some business changes which may have caused him to get a bit behind.

While I cant speak directly for him, Im sure he will let you know whats going on when contact is made. I do know however that he does not keep every item in stock and does rely on other vendors when it comes time to order uncommon parts (oddball turbos for sure).....when the other vendors dont come through on their schedules, it sets RPM behind as well.

Mike is a good, trustworthy, honest guy. He's been around a long time. I've never had any problems ordering parts through RPM.

I have dealt with mike also, and picked up a few parts along the way. Always got everything that i ordered, and never had a problem. I will continue to order parts from RPM in the future.
