If you plus size them properly, you won't have a problem. Which rims? How wide are they?

You need to have the outside diameters of the tires match within 1% or so (prefer zero).

Tirerack's website can provide you with all kinds of useful specs.

Standard C5 vette rims are 17" x 8.5" and 18" x 9.5" (Z06 gets 1" wider front and rear). You're likely to need some pretty thick spacers on the rear to get the tire in the correct spot in the wheelwell (18" rears are like 65mm offset (2.55") which is really high positive offset (like 7.25" backspacing)). Fronts may require spacers too, not sure what the offset on the 17's are.

Here's what I would use for sizes with those wheels, 245/45/17's for the front, and 275/35/18's for the rear. They'll be damn close to the same diameter, and it will also give you a good selection.
