Will this headunit fit?

I'm trying to find a 'drop in' aftermarket stereo for the Sy. The whole DIN thing is messing with me. Here is my understanding:

1 DIN = 2" high
1.5 DIN = 3" high
2 DIN = 4" high

I'm looking at a "2 DIN" Pioneer that measures 3-7/8" high. I measured the height of the stock radio and it's 3-5/8". Would the Pioneer just drop in? Also, how can the stock radio be 1.5 DIN if it's closer to 2 DIN in height?

I was looking at normal 1.5 DIN radios (3" height) but they would leave gaps in the stock opening.

Pioneer used to make (still may) factory-fit GM/Chrysler replacment radios.... check Crutchfield out and see if they still have them.

din will fit with a adaptor kit and will stick out 1 inch unless you modify the heater vents, Pioneer and alpine made 1.5 din bolt in units double din wont fit unless you cut

This is my understanding. Confusion comes in when there is only 2/10th's of inch difference between a supposedly 3-5/8" 1.5DIN stock headunit and a 3-7/8" 2DIN Pioneer headunit.
