Cut the bumpstops to make them shorter. I have the lowerings springs and will only ocassionally hit the stops.

I cut about 1/2" off them, but now the axle is hitting the bumpstop bracket. I could cut off the bumpstop bracket, but then the tire will hit the cladding.

I got the engine tie down turnbuckle installed. That thing is sweet! I put the repainted wiper stalks back on. I'm gonna have some dinner and may try to get a few DM logs in. Tomorrow, engine bay powerwash, wash & wax.

Took the wire wheel to my prop rod and repainted it. The excitement almost killed me:D

after washing and waxing the Ty, I watched it rain

Damn Texas weather....it was supposed to be hot and dry for another week before we could even think about rain! The miracle storm came out of nowhere just to spite me!

Filled up with R134a and now have AC:tup: Stripped the floor pan of goo and prepped it for POR 15 tomorrow, along with a few other rust spots destined to be painted with POR and then covered with cladding. About to order plastic rivets and need to find the right "clip nut" / bolt for the cladding. Reading over the SyTy CD ROM I got from Rick Waller:tup:

Since 8 am yesterday morning until 10 pm tonight with only 5 hours of sleep in between, I went from a completely stock, rusty engine to this

It may not look like much but when you have 1 out of every 3 nuts/bolts breaking and stripping out, things can get a little frustrating. I had to cut/torch/break engine oil cooler hoses, tranny cooler hoses, intercooler hoses, power steering pressure line, the abs fittings going to the proportioning valve and two studs off the downpipe. NOT FUN. This truck is originally from New York and all I've ever owned are nice, rust-free Texas vehicles so this rust bucket is a first. I have a newfound respect for all the mechanics that live up north that have to deal with this crap on a daily basis

Everything under the hood except the brake booster and exhaust manifolds is going to get either painted, powder coated or polished before going back in.

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

I just finished swapping out the dead original IC pump in my Sy with a Johnson pump. The Johnson pump works great.

I drove mine to Long Island for my mom's B-day dinner. It ran great!

Finished installing an ATR exhaust on the Typhoon that I purchased used from a member, and picked up from him at Nats. Came out OK. Not perfect, but so much better than the rotten OEM system that was there. Thanks Jeff! [ialwayswantedone]

You are welcome and thank you also ....Glad it all worked out.

Today I removed (according to my fish scale) 8lbs of wiring, old alarm brain boxes and other fun wiring nests. There was one current active alarm, and remains of another alarm in the center console.

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Drove the wife's Ty over to the shop... took of the 2003 water pump I'd installed.. (does not have bypass port built it) installed 92 waterpump. Put some different sparkplugs gapped at .30 see if it corrects the spark blow out i was having at about 13psi.
Drove home with 170-180coolant temps and 20lbs of boost.
Needs final tuned and then oil changed this week.
I don't like the way the transmission is shifting (rpm wise) too high with low throttle and too low with high throttle. Need to figure out how to get the TV cable to do what I need it to.
For such a strange 1 off intake setup I made I'm having very little trouble so far!

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Changed out the steering shaft finally, fixed a few grounds that were done wrong (thanks ken), changed out the back glass and fixed a leak at the rear wiper motor.........and a few other small things.

Those grounds "seem" to be the problem I was having Beavis. I will find out tomorrow when I take it for a cruise....see if I can get past that 15 mile mark. Noticed a BIG difference when I took it for a quick spin to dizzel's house after I fixed the grouds. We shall see.......
