Trans out, apart, back in on my ty friday.

Get Hardmans silver ty running saturday, fab work/install work is 95% done just not running. So I am sure set timing, change plugs as I think they are fouled, lots of tuning as he has big inj. now, not sure what else we will run into. Most important is rag on each other.

As long as Jeremy doesn't start throwing punches we are good.

Updates!

Well we found Jeff's transmission problem. A hole in the center support that caused the second gear piston to lose pressure causing second gear to slip.:tdown:

Apparently the tranny builder decide to patch the hole with epoxy or JB weld.:tdown: It didn't hold up.:rant:

I think its only fair to say the name of the builder, cause if it was me with one of his builds and seeing this, id be starting to worry. :2cents:

Primegears built it, but I will say this was a custom machined part by Jeff. George told him the hole would be fine and he could use it. It was not. Most/all of the rest of 80e's he built shouldn't have this bigger 2nd gear piston in it.

Since we couldn't fix the tranny Friday night( Have to order in some parts). We thought we should pull the engine and check it out. Also Jeff had some new heads(bigger ports) he wanted to install.

Today (saturday) we got HARDman's (heavy breather) Ty up and running. Lots of small things to tidy up and lots of tuning to do. looking for some low 11's timeslips in the springtime from this one!:tup:


Game plan next week is on Wednesday the 2nd to fix Jeff's trans and Dennis is suppose to be in on the 4th to finish up the Tytantic. HARDman will be back down on saturday to get some more things done to his Ty. Everyone/Anyone is welcome to come by and help, watch, learn, & bs.

So your swapping out a small block for a big block I see. You might have to upgrade those "training turbo's" with that swap. Look out for when Dennis is over with his truck on the lift you will all hit your heads for sure.
