What do you think about this Typhoon?

http://www.kelolandautomall.com/show.aspx?vid=797995 link for info

Ok Ive been on the boards for years now and still no typhoon, lol, its killing me. There is a fairly local one forsale. Its a 92 with 103K miles. They want $13K for it. Does this seem a little high for the miles or not? For those that care, heres the email the lady sent me...

Thank you for your interest in the Typhoon. There would be an interest in a possible trade for the Dakota QC you wrote of. I would like more information on the mods done and photos please. Last tune up information not available to me, maintenance records did not come with vehicle when we bought it. However, we do know some history of the most recent owner and do not doubt that he maintained it very well! He also still owns a Cyclone, the truck version of the Typhoon.

I can tell you we have done regular oil changes, etc... since bought 2 ½ years ago. Vehicle has been kept in road ready storage for 2 years due to military status of my son. (Co-owner of vehicle)

He has chosen to sell, and I am doing the legwork for him since he is oversees at this time.
Chip information I have available to me is GM GR3.670 Calibrator and my son reports yes, it built to correct boost when tested.

Interior in very good condition. No tears in leather, clean. Non smoker, maintained.

As far as working as original, yes to the best of our knowledge. With exception of alarm system. It is there, but has not worked since purchased and was not a priority to repair/replace for short time driven before his leaving.

He did put in a new exhaust system shortly after buying it.

Owners, I believe we are the 3rd private owner of this vehicle.

Yes 8 stock rims, and tires are nearly brand new as well.

Hope this information is helpful, let me know if any more questions, and please reply with your Dakota info.

--- I really would appreciate to get some input/advice/thoughts on what you guys think of this typhoon. Thanks a ton, Cody

Re: What do you think about this Typhoon?

Price seems a little high I'd think. But I don't own one. I am sure the owners would feel it's a good price cause it helps keep the value of the trucks as a whole.

No one needs 8 stock wheels.....I prefer to pay extra for low miles on anything I buy

Re: What do you think about this Typhoon?

I would take 20k for mine with 54k and buy that 23k miles for 17k

Truckless. For now.
Re: What do you think about this Typhoon?

I'd like to say that's a good price, but given the current market for our trucks, I'd say it's a tad high. For what it's worth, I paid $10,500 for my 1992 in 2002 with 102,000 on the odo. If high mileage trucks have gone up in price, I'd say that's good news for us.

But like I said, I'd say it was a tad high. :)

Re: What do you think about this Typhoon?

sounds kinda high. You can find one with about 70,000-80,000 miles for the price there asking right now. Look on the board, there are defiently some good deals right now.

Where at in Portland? Do you know the miles on them and what 'engine work' needs to be done? My Dad's always looking for a Ty, and we'll be in Portland come winter.

ya they are thinking of trading me for my dodge dakota...which is worth 11-12 easy, so im going to try and trade either straight up or get a little money. if I could sell my truck I know i could find a much lower mileage one for the money- but thats the problem, i have to get my truck sold first. I might go check it out and see if they will budge a little on price. Keep the comments coming. thanks, cody

Re: What do you think about this Typhoon?

Find out who did the tranny, because it being new could not mean $h!t and the reason it's up for sale.

I definitely would, but this guy is possibly trading me for my dakota. If he doesnt want to trade I wont even think much more about this ty, but not many ty owners want to trade for a regular vehicle, lol.

x2.

or offer trade for your Dodge, and $2k in your pocket. And like said, see who did the rebuild on the tranny. Better make sure you go over the truck well when you go see it too.

thanks, if this gets really serious i will take my friend that has owned 2 typhoons and is a gm mechanic from wyotech to check it out with me. I hope to "casually" check it out within the next couple weeks, still waiting to see how interested they really are in the dakota.
