Stock Intake Cleaning/Painting/Polishing

What did you all do with your intakes? I have my stripped down to bare metal now and Im ready to go! Im thinking that I'll paint the lower intake black and the upper silver (w/ engine paint)
Will painting the intake hold the heat in and act as an insullator?

You already know what I did to mine:

If you are a glutton for punishment and feel up to the challenge, I did a "how to" write up here. So far everyone that has tried, cried "uncle" like I predicted :lol:. No one has started and finished thier intake and/or intercooler AFAIK. Wanna be the first

Renz hooked me up with this black powder coated intake.. I had a buddy that does body work for a living fill in the script.

mine is being polished. I have the stock on on right now. Yes its a lot of work. like Mike said. I dont think I will be done with it any time soon

I had the upper, lower, and T/B media blasted and left them as a raw finish, I like the look of the aluminum.

WOW! I polished the lips of the wheels on my old CBR900RR. NEVER AGAIN!! lol What a pain. BEAUTIFUL job you have done on those pices. Ill pass! lol

probably not and I know I will never be able to keep the polished look that nice. I'll have to settle for a nice bright silver I guess.
