Just wanted to mention....

We are doing this event for SE SyTys, not for going to Street Nats. Regardless what weekend we all pick (street nats or not), the event is still going to take place...... the street nats just offered up something to go do for that particular weekend, and is not something we are planning around.

If your looking to race at the track, I suggest not to pick the street nats weekend, cause you wont be running at all. At the same time, we really should find out how many are serious enough to race to make it worth it. I dont want to pick a date only to have 1 or 2 trucks racing and have everyone mad that we didnt pick the street nats weekend instead and watch some serious racing.

Then again, that why the voting is there so you guys can decide what you want to do.

i voted after street nats, although it might be something to do if everyone doesn't plan on drag racing.
Personally i don't know that i would drive that far from home to drag race and be worrying about breaking something and not being able to get home.

just wondering, cause Orlando is a long travel from NV

Some may want to go to streetnats , but for our syty event , anything we do in orlando can be crowded with the overflow from halloween horror nights and streetnats during options a+b . Halloween weekend is also B ,and for those with kids , it may make for a hectic schedule that could deter attendees. I see Im the only one that was against a+b but I figured I would throw out the week before A ?

ah, well im moving back to Augusta, Georgia in January :tup:
I would have to look but i think thats like a 10-12 hour drive?

* Update * - sytyshindig.com will be launched in a few weeks (once we determine the weekend) and will have a "registration section" where you can list yourself as attending or maybe attending. So, anyone wanting to attend, just wait for the site and you'll be able to register online.

Maybe avoid Halloween and street nats and go Nov. 7th thru 10th. Likely have better weather and not so close to Nats.

Im pretty much down for any weekend. Although Im not a fan of the track (much rather go streetrace), Id probably run my truck if given the opportunity to run with others.
Weather would probably be a bit cooler as we get into Nov more... its been really nice lately, mid to high 70s with a light breeze during the day and dropping into the 50-60s at night.


We had some solid voting for the location.... need to have the same for the date as well. Its up to you guys... once we got the date set, me and Hood are going to begin with the major coordination of registration, schedule, food, and the misc stuff in between.

Im looking into hopefully getting some really good raffle prizes.

I was just on the Orlando speed world web site and they have the dates for street nats 08'. It says Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.

I still don't know if I would want to go on the same weekend, but they have pics of the cruise at Race Rock Cafe from last year ( I think) and it looks like a good time.

Cool, let me update the poll then.....

The cruise at race rock is neat.... pretty much all the cars out so you can walk up and check them out, no barriers. Not sure if they are still doing it as much since I havent been in the past 2 years, but usually when the show is over and the cars are leaving, you get to see some nasty burnouts and quick displays of HP down I-Drive.... everyone lines the streets, about 3-4 people deep for a good 200-300 yards. You see people with water they brought to throw down on the street to entice the burnouts

ah, the dragon...

i think the way our trucks handle, most of us would find ourselves in the ditch, wrapped around a tree or flying in the air as we exited the road. unless i was in a truck set up for roadcorse with consider suspension work done, i wouldnt be driving it at any high rate of speed.
