Sold the catback to another member a couple of months ago...was the dual tip borla exaust. Catalitic converter still intact and functional, passed california smog 3 months ago.

Buy it for 11k and I'll throw in an RPM Catback or something of equal or lesser value of your choice.

Didnt sell on Ebay :( Only got bid up to 10200. Maybe I'll try again? What do you guys think I could get for the truck if I strip it of all my mods. Put the stocker wheels back on ect. Anybody want some of the mods I listed pulled? Maybe I'll just sell #1784 instead...?

One of many things I don't understand about E-bay bidders is why would someone see a decent truck, a buy it now price of say 12k, a reserve price set but not revealed, and bid $600, then $606, then $702. Did they really think they had a shot at getting a truck for 7bills?

I should sell the Sy I bought for 6K, and I'll come up with the rest. This truck is sweet, and I got some new plans for a fast syty that's classified, so modifying my stocker is less of an option now. I might even take a small beating on mine to get a deal goin if someone is interested.

Sorry to hijack

I find that E-Bay is a good metering stick for what the market is willing to pay for an item. I just sold my 89 Stang with 18K of parts for $6000.00. Of course the Sy has collector value and seeing it bring over $10 K is pretty good for the hard times of the country.

If you really want to get your price you will have to wait till the market gets better.

Really nice truck, I sold a friends Sy two years ago to Jerry Clark in AZ. This SY had 3005 miles on it and it went for $26K. Man I wished I had the money for it, Jerry already had a daily driver SY and ending up selling the low miles one for about a $3K profit.

Good luck on your sale and bump for a sweet truck.

did it sell?

Pending..

How should I go about getting paid if it's a buyer outta state who'd fly in and drive it home? Obviously people want to see a vehicle before they pay for it, and I want to be 100% certain funds will clear before the truck leaves my site. How have some of you guys handled it?

Cashier's check or cash.

Cashier's check or cash.

Cash is what I think too. My bank won't vouch/clear a cashiers check for like 5 days!! WTF am i supposed to with 5 days? The truck would be already in the hands of the new owner.

Maybe electronic transfer?? Anybody's bank have this as a "free" service? Bank to bank?

You guys have no faith. I wrote a personal check at 3am in a Wal Mart parking lot last week for a Ty and the guy let me load it in my semi truck and haul it away :)

(note: I did sell this truck to him originally about 2 years ago, so we had a previous business relationship, despite never meeting in person lol)

And I still haul syty's when I get a chance if the buyer needs a transport.

x2...it simply can't be common for "crooks" to FLY IN to purchase a vehicle and then hand you a fake cashier's check.

Also, if your bank takes that long to verify it, find another bank!!

Cashier check fraud hapens a lot more than you'd think. Kinda like the scam where someone sends you a money order for something online and lets you keep a little extra if you cash it and send them the change. Then again, it depends if you are dealing with a board member. Also, most scams won't happen in person.

If it were me, I'd send at least half in a cashiers check a few days before I went to pick up your Sy, then bring the rest in cash. Cash is always king.

Nello, your bank manager can call the bank on the cashier check and verify the funds have been "set aside" from the buyers account. IF that has been done, a cashier check is just like cash in your hands. I'd take the buyer with me to the bank in the truck during the return of the test drive and once it is a done deal, let him drive it from there. The longer you are behind the wheel, the more succeptable you are to getting hit and losing a sale . All the best.

That's EXACTLY what happened when I bought my Sy in Tennessee.

If at all possible, you and the buyer goto the bank together and have the money wired to your account.

I got a cashiers check when I sold Ty 366. At my bank, they told me they will only deposit half and will have to wait a few days for the other half to clear and get in. F that mess... I made them get on the phone with the buyers bank and send all the cash at once. The bank wouldnt have wrote him a cashiers check if the funds werent in his account.....and I wasnt going to risk only half and then the buyer potentially emptying his account before the other half cleared. Few minutes later my bank had called the buyers bank, I had 100% of the funds.
