Replacement Brake Lines

I just wanted to clarify some things for guys that want to replace their brake lines with pre-bent stainless or oem steel lines. inline tube has copies for both the syclone and typhoon. At first when I tried to order them they said that they did not have the prints but after emailing them back and telling them that other owners had sent in their originals to be copied, they found the prints and sent me the whole brake line kit in stainless steal.

I looks exactly like the stock stuff except in stainless and It all fit perfectly.
It was kinda expensive but if you factor in the special flaring tool for stainless and the time and materials I think you would be much happier buying this kit.

Not sure who we have to thank for sending in their originals but jorgenson might be the one.
I just ordered the fuel line kit and I'll let everyone know how it fits.

The originals lines were not corroded that bad but all of the connections where a b***h to take apart.
Never going to buy another truck from the salt belt again.

good to know every time i've talked to them they said they didn't have them.. I was about to take all my old lines and send them in. Now I don't have to, sweet.

I believe they run $150+ for brake lines and $150+ for fuel lines.. not sure though.

Re: Replacement Brake Lines

I paid 204 after shipping for stainless. Talk to James D. In sales that is who I emailed. The kit is every metal line on the truck including the abs lines.

Re: Replacement Brake Lines

funny you should ask... i was looking in my dads GSXtra today and saw an advertisement for Classic Tubing. Called, talked to Tom. he said send them in and he'll make'em however i want... which is with braided stainless flex line instead of rubber hose... anyway they manufacture those O-ring metric fittings in house. however theyre plated steel. no big deal. i have to mail in my lines to him for reproduce but only have the feed and return lines from xfer case to sending unit pulled. still need to track down the vapor line. ill let you know when/if i mail them in. theres a possiblility i may convert every thing to Swagelok. i havent made my decision yet. but will soon.

also i searched around for a while last night and came up w/ Aeroquip fbm2608 and 2609 if you want to make your own.http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=700+400274+115+304784&autoview=sku, also RPM offershttp://www.sytyperformance.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=149&Itemid=26 or http://www.hydratechbraking.com/products/accessories.html under adaptors. others make these fitting too, but these were the best i found. EARLS has them in anodized colors.

so if you ever felt like you were running into a bunch of dead ends or out of options theres always a way.

of course there is always a way, i just feel like 95% of people want stock replacement with prolonged life instead of making something custom.

Re: Replacement Brake Lines

then i suppose ill mail my lines to classic tube.

now what about a S/S sending unit??? mine looks even worse than the lines. the lines coming out are about twice as thick as originals because of the pitting.

i saw a tech article where someone bent stainless lines w/ the right fittings and length and just soddered them in place of the old corroded ones through the original sending unit cap. i havent had any luck finding this site again.

Re: Replacement Brake Lines

In line tube has the pattern for both trucks I work 20 minutes from the place and have taken all my lines there for them to verify they are the exact same as standard s- series lines

thank you, if that is the case i'll be ordering the stock s-series lines since they are much cheaper than what sy777 paid for the "typhoon" specific lines

but yeah, they need to figure out what the do and don't have.

I was going to call up p-s-t here in Jersey and offer to bring them my lines this week

Re: Replacement Brake Lines

make sure they give you the correct lines for the syclone, the main line from front to rear they gave me a 2wd line took me 4 hours to figure out it was wrong
