  • Hey Tim-

I decided to log into syty.net and check the old boards. Wow! I just briefly read through your posts. I know you messaged me about a year ago. I picked up the truck in '01 or '02 if I remember correctly. I drove to Ft. Wayne, IN to pick her up. At that point the guy was the 2nd owner, owned a repair shop. The truck had around 90,000 on it then I believe. I bought it for $8600.00. I installed the PTE/exhaust/fuel pump, regulator, gauges, switch chip and lots of odds and ends. I had begun the process of collecting engine bits. I rarely drove it hard as I knew with the mileage and age it would go at any point. With the chip I never ever turned the boost up to #23. I kept it at stock boost. I was building a foundation for a full rebuild. I had purchased vortec heads, eagle rods & srp pistons. A teenager rearended me, casuing approximately $9,000 in body damage. Also, as the story goes, my wife got pregnant and our first daughter was born, the truck had to go. I sold the truck as is-withthe damage, which was only cosmetic really. I remember Clint, quite a character actually. I told him to take it easy on it, she was fragile, and I had put lots of time, effort and $ into her. He knew the engine was on its' last leg then. On the way back to Wisconsin he called me and told me he turned up the boost and raced a corvette from the toll booth blowing the engine entirely at that point. Even though she wasn't mine at that point it still hurt. He actually bought the eagle rods from me, but I parted out the pistons and heads. The mirrors were stock when I had it along with the syclone seats, which were in fairly decent shape. Sad to see he parted some of that stuff out. The funniest thing, when I bought it, it had this terrible faded pin strip all the way around the truck from the cladding up. very '91. I pulled it all of and worked hard to get id of the residue....

Anyways, I hope it's working out for you. Great story and glad to see i's back in chitown. I'm in Wheaton so I'm close, I would love to see updated 0569 at some point. She was well loved before Clint got to her. Take care.

    ...aaaaaand now it's in Oregon!
Just wanted to let you know sy#569 is here in Naperville. I bought the truck from Clint this past april and the title was still in your name. Kinda funny. Anyways I brought it back from Madison and sunk about $6k into it so far. The motor is still screwed and the truck has not been on the road in 8 months. I have $11k into it and its still not where I want it to be.

Do you have any info from when you owned the truck? Who was original owner ect? These trucks are very needy as you know so I am trying to get as much info as possible.

    Hope to hear from you!

    Tim
