    Installing ZR-1 Rim's

"ZR-1" wheels "ZR-1" wheels I just sold a set of factory 17" camaro SS wheels and replaced them with a 5 spoke ZR-1 9.5, and 11". When I installed the factory Camaro SS wheels w/ 275-45-17 tires I needed to remove 3/16" from the front axle stub to get the cap on. I used a small hacksaw so I...

How much to cut off the stun-axel for ZR-1 front wheels?

axle stub cut axle stub cut I only had to cut off 3/16" of an inch. I used a hack saw and cut it by hand slowly to keep it straight. I then used a large bastard file to replace the chamfer back on the stub. There is still plenty of meat left on the axle and looks pretty much stock. If any...

Thoughts on 1.6 rockers No guesses real world gains/losses?

In the process of replacing valve seals. I hate to work on something and not give it a few tweaks here and there. A perfect opportunity to add a set of 1.6 rocker arms if they are worth the $$$. What kind of gains and or headaches come with installing these. More MPH in the 1/4?????, Less...

    Side Exit Exhaust

It can be done without cutting!! Don't do that! Have you ever seen a Winston cup exhaust? Or a tail pipe exit on an Open wheel Indy type car? They are very thin in height (1 1/2 tall or so) The pipe can be fabricated to be very small (section wise) tall but can be wide to make up for the...

    Lightning Wheels...

I would have to think that even if the bolt pattern matched (in the past the GM stuff would not cross over, Mopar and FoMoco had the same pattern at 4 1/2" vs Gm 4 3/4") The positive offset of that wheel would extend it beyond the fenders of the SY Ty by quite a bit in the front.

    12.7@104

Congrats on your pass. I bet you were happy to see that time slip! I have run the exact numbers you have on pump gas, with an octane booster(probably not providing much of anything)and 65deg. temps. I have the stock turbo with an upgraded heat exchanger. I also had the same effect you had when...

Is it possible to find out where your truck came from? I me

I called the GMC customer line and got in touch with (????) I can't remember her name now but she sent me a letter confirming "collectors status" and a copy of the original dealer order form. I had to get these items to be eligible for collectors plates in Ohio. Let me know if you still need...

Any SyTy owners here own GN's?

I had one of the two tone black and charcoal grey 86 T-Types. It was dubbed the "designer package" I sold my Turbo Buick to buy my Sy. I would have to say that the overall "hot rod" feel has to go to the Buick. It did that squirrely all over the road fish tail when the boost kicked in, FUN...

Valve cover removal PIA or no problem

Ok I am going out in the cold tomorrow to replace some seeping valve cover gaskets. Should I pack meals and tell the post office to hold my mail, or is it straight forward and they come off w/ out removing half of the motor/wire harness? Just wondering, I might decide to wait for warmer...
