I'm pretty sure the smoke was just white, and since it doesn't seem to be consistant I'm thinking it's not valve seals (at least not yet anyway). But I'll be sure to keep an eye out for any blue smoke that may come with it. thanks for your input guys

I found a '93 Ty for sale near my home. A dealer has it and is asking $11,000 firm. The truck has 66K and is immaculate inside and out. It needs frond end work such as tie rod ends, pitman arm, etc. I know its a good deal other than this steering work, is it difficult to do this myself. And...
