Can we use these??? I was under the impression that 4l80Es were more expensive than $1000. Granted these are rebuilt but still.


Ahhh I didnt see the $250 shipping and $750 core charge...ok make it a $2000 4l80E

You'll still have to pay someone to tear it down so you can have the syty specific output shaft in it. Find you a core. They run $450 to $550.

The core & shipping charges make it not a worthwhile thing, by themselves.

George makes a great point about the output shaft.

Also, do you trust whoever did the rebuild had any idea what they were doing?


For my 1999 Bravada swap, I picked up a complete 4L80E from a '04 Silverado with 26,421 miles on it from a reputable salvage yard for $800 complete with convertor (which I'm using for now due to budget constraints). Shipping (with the 6.0L LSx motor) was $135 (two pallets, total of about 1,000 lbs shipped truck). For me, I'm running a transfer case that uses the 32 spline input (NV246 with no low range) but it isn't truely AWD its more instant on 4wd with computer control, so its not for everybody. I haven't had this tranny apart (besides dropping the pan to put in a fresh filter and a deep pan), but it was DAMN clean inside. I trust the GM parts inside the case, and the warranty provided by the salvage yard. Who do you trust?
