Hows the downpipe clearance working out with the solid mounts Don?

Check these guys out in Livermore. They do all kinds of custom work, intakes, w2a intercoolers, and may have some fitting you need to smooth out the compressor to intercooler pipe, if you're even interested. Congrats on 11's, now go get some kills.

DP clearance is fine. Where it comes close to teh frame (counting from teh turbo it's the 2nd elbow) I pounded a slight "dent" for clearance.

Did you forget the Livermore link? I'm OK with the turbo to IC pipe. Looks worse than it is I think but I really need to do something about an air cleaner.

Those are some good passes, I believe they will get lower too. BTW is that you with video clips on you tube? I remember the guy in the videos first name was Don, and last name started with a W. Video clips was of a lightly modded truck, but I thought it might be some older videos of yours.

Thanks Josh. Time could improve a bit. Still working on getting the right amount of meth. Truck is a blast to drive. It pulls hard on the top end which it never did before.

Prolly me in the vid if it looks like Infineon, or some clown in orange coveralls doing a first fire on his new Syclone motor. :rotf:

Re: 11's INFO added

Congrats Don, very well done. I am sorry I'm a peep:oops:, but your last post begs me to ask a question. My Sy (only had it a few months) has identical 60 foot times, and 1/8 mile times are very similar, but it looses it all in the top end. I have a standard block, pl 17 chip, and a pt63 turbo. My question, Is there a way to tune for better top end, and better speed.?Does the sy have a speed / rev limiter built in. Trust me I have searched, but without luck. Any help greatly apprec. BTW PB 12,84 @ 103.

That's exactly what I used to run with my ty. What heads are you using? When I had the stock heads and everything else my truck would run like hell to 1/8th then fall on its face and stop pulling. I went 12.82 at 104 with 1.69 60ft times. I changed to vortec heads and now it pulls all the way though. Stock heads run out of steam quick with a bigger turbo that's why I ask.

Re: 11's INFO added

After reading so much about these trucks, I thought the same thing. To answer I think I'm running standard heads (what I've been told), and next mod will be Vortecs! I have also read that some owners have run times like these with standard heads, but I guess they were ported or something?!?
I must also add that I'm running 18psi, with 98 octane pump gas, no allky (and trust me in Australia I imagine 98 is close to your 93 pump, as fuel in Australia is the worst quality!!!!) but thank you for the question / reply, if I get it to go better I'll post. I should add that I am still FULL WEIGHT, and full exhaust (might help if I lightened the Sy???)

You're right where I was at with stock heads at full weight. I ran 18psi on 93 pump gas no alky.

Dropping weight is a good way to increase ET's. Every hundred pounds is worth about a tenth to tenth and a half or so. Its cheaper than trying to make more power! Do the vortec mod and custom tune. Best money I spent for a daily driven weekend worrior! Took a half a second of my stock head, ultimate chip set up.

Re: 11's INFO added

My heads are Vortec's. A stock motor -can- be made to pull all the way through. My best on my original motor (chip, meth, 3"dp) was just a hair under 12.5 and quite a few have done better. One of the tings that happens with a stock motor, IMHO, you run out of fuel. IOW the inj's are too small.
